The Phoenix Suns declined the team option on forward Cheick Diallo, league sources told @hoopshype. Diallo becomes an unrestricted free agent. He’s known for having a high motor.

Another guy I'd be cool with the Spurs taking on cheap as a reclamation project.

They're really going to be taxed the equivalent of a whole another roster (and then some?) for a team without Klay for the season? Yikes.
They still have their disabled exception, which could reduce their tax. And maybe Wiggins will be moved. From the aquiring of Oubre, i think they are going all in without Klay.

The Indiana Pacers won’t extend qualifying offers to Alize Johnson, Brian Bowen and Naz Mitrou-Long, @hoopshype has learned. Each player will become an unrestricted free agent.

Yup. A little surprised but not really. He will get 4/100 as the only real big name. Knicks are dumb like that

All of these free agents. Man. I wonder if Bryn will still have a career in the NBA. Starting to doubt it.

For this year, only if they can get a team with cap space to send back less salary in a trade. For future years yes, if they get back an expiring contract.

iirc Wiseman now counts around $9M in a trade, while it was zero before he was picked. Or is that only when he signs his contract?

I really thought GS would just let the trade exception expire, especially with Thompson down. They might be going all in instead.
Any team can trade for both guys even if over the cap, so long as they take back no more than 125% of salary plus $100k. So Warriors could cut payroll in trade to over the cap team like the Spurs.

Also, Wiseman would be traded BEFORE being signed because otherwise he can’t be traded for 30 (?) days. I don’t remember how his pending salary would count but I think it would be easier to trade out before he signs.

Issue for Spurs would be bumping into the tax on some of these trades.

You mean from yesterday? That got blocked by the league.

Gay is probably enough, or Lyles and Mills. Spurs would have to give up a first to get though. Might be worth it if it's protected well enough.

I think Wiseman is a no go but if GSW is win now they may trade their own 21 or 22 for LMA. Better than nothing but not sure the spurs want to take the salary for 1 pick

It wasn't announced. The league is cracking down on that absurd Bogdanovic S&T, so OKC and Dallas just sort of didn't do their deal and the Thunder got 17 instead.

The Detroit Pistons aren't extending a qualifying offer to Thon Maker and he'll become an unrestricted free agent, source tells ESPN.

Yeah I'd do the trade if it was a lottery-protected first I guess. Doubt the Spurs would though.

Im in the minority(only?) here but I would love for the Spurs to sign him especially if we can get him for the min.

What I'd like to see would be a lineup like this (assuming Mills, Lyles and a first is the package)

    White, Murray, Jones
    Vassell, Walker, Weatherspoon
    DeRozan, Johnson,
    Gallinari, Gay, Samanic
    Aldridge, Poeltl, Eubanks

With the team using whatever money they have left to let a bunch of 6-8 wings battle it out for the final roster spot, with the runner up getting a two-way along with another young center.
