Can't believe I gotta root for the Lakers

baseline bum is right. They're the only team with a prayer to beat the Clippers so I can't root against them.

Yes, you read that right: the Spurs are asking for a crazy amount to deal Kawhi Leonard to the Lakers
The Lakers have done an expert job of clearing cap space for next summer, and they’ve gotten to the point where they can sign Leonard outright, allowing them to counter this reported Spurs offer with an offer of their own: You can give us Leonard for something reasonable, or you can lose him for nothing when we sign him next offseason.
the Lakers and their loud, y fanbase, tbh.

Agreed granted I won't root for either in this matchup. Lakers historically have always gotten special treatment from the refs so you have to factor that in this hypothetical matchup.

Not rooting for either. In this series I will enjoy seeing either side lose. If the Lakers lose I get to see Laker fans in tears and Lebron having the door shut him from ever winning another le. If the Lakers win #2 loses which will be great to see along with seeing his fanboys in tears.

With Milwaukee bowing out too soon, WTF coach Bud (?), I'm now rooting for the Celtics. I'd root for the Nuggets but they have a snowball's chance in of beating both L.A. teams.

I like how we Spurs fans fret about about the size of the wings while the Raptors just won by going with a lineup of Lowry, VanVleet and Powell that has an average height of 6-feet-nothing -- and fortified by OG at PF and Siakam at C

Spurs don't have those prototypical tall SF or SF/PF (playable this year) that can play PF and C in that type of small ball lineup.

I don't necessarily disagree with that sentiment but a lineup of White, Murray, Walker, Johnson and Lyles, for example, isn't really that small if you're judging it by the 2020 NBA Playoffs.

I agree on the Lyles aspect and was one of the more vocal disappointed on the forum when it was announced he was going to miss the bubble (especially with how he was playing before the postponement) because of PATFO's statement that the bubble would be about developing the young players.

    I kept repeating:

With Lyles our restart rotation would have been:

Starters: Dejounte, White, DeRozan, Lyles, Poeltl

Bench: Quinn/Beli, Walker, Keldon, Gay, Eubanks

That rotation would have done well.

You are missing the point that the Raptors still have Anunoby and Siakam. Try going a full season with a perimeter of Lowry, VanVleet and Powell and see how good they'd do.

Don't think I'm missing that point since what you quoted mentioned them, tbh. They're good and modern-NBA-friendly, but they're still small for a PF and C duo -- which was the point of my comment.

They'd probably do really well, actually. If a team like the Celtics that could hypothetically match them with big, talented wings can't take advantage, which teams out there can? Maybe the Lakers and Clippers but that's about it.

You are getting to too many conclusions out of one game, imho. A Lowry, VV, Powell perimeter would be exposed over an entire season. It would also probably be exposed over an entire Celtics-Raptors series, tbh.

I'm down with that lineup. For me, what gives me fits as a Spurs fan is any rotation that includes Bryn "Airpunch" Forbes, Patty "I Was Better Bald" Mills, and Marco "The Defensive Matador" Belinelli.

Not gonna lie... Would be fun to watch a Raptors vs Clippers Finals... Raptors winning would be hilarious.

Or even Celtics in the Finals would be interesting. I like Tatum and that group. Tatum would catapult to supers om if he wins a championship.
