I don't understand the "reracking" comments. How many rounds did he fire? You don't rerack an AR. You simply release the bolt and that's only after inserting another magazine because yours is now empty. It's not a pump action shotgun.

He may have slammed the forward assist to make sure the gun wasn't jammed after hitting the ground. There's no way in that brief period he reloaded the AR. It's a semi-auto. It doesn't need to rechamber another round manually.

I didn’t have the full context other than the clips going viral. But the prosecutor making comments about the defendant having exercised his right to remain silent is highly inappropriate. There were other reasons he was being yelled at that im less familiar with

I do think asking for a mistrial with prejudice at this stage is ridiculous. Reeks of "I'm scared of my client being judged by a jury of his peers" more than anything else.
