Is it really that bad (other than Northwest Iowa, which I know is a cesspool)? Obama won Iowa by 5+% each time despite being considered an "elitist" who'd have nothing in common with an Iowa farmer; I know he campaigned there aggressively and had a great ground game but it's not like that would make a difference in Mississippi. Tom Harkin also survived there for 5 terms despite being pro-choice and pro-gay marriage. IMO it's not a state Democrats should abandon.

Iowa used to be a place to live because of the quality of education, and decent areas to raise kids in. They’ve destroyed much of the Ed framework, and it’s as dying State.
