That's in addition to the worst ever fiscal national deficit. And the worst COVID infection count and death total in the world.

trade deficits were a made-up issue to begin with. americans are the biggest consumers on the planet. its fully expected we'd have a trade deficit
The news is the size of the deficit, not that we simply have one.
its not necessarily a bad thing to have an increased trade deficit
i guess the news is that trump was stupid to promise that he would shrink the deficit through protectionist policies which hurt americans, and that despite all that we still have a trade deficit larger than he came in... but like i said, the deficits themselves arent even necessarily harmful. he's just pretty stupid.

He was listening to Birx for a while though when she was giving him all the rosy forecasts back in April.
