telling teenagers what they're not supposed to read is totally gonna work.

Why so much Toni Morrison? My only complaint about the ones of hers I read were they were a bit of a slog. And lol at 11/22/63 being on there. Why not the Stand too?
I really liked The Stand.
The long version takes on a bit too much for itself, but it does not matter to me because parts of The Stand were fantastic imo. And I really dont even like fiction that much. But yeah I can see how it would be horribly overlooked. An old lady has sex with a younger man in a tent, then she dies, and he leaves her Stinking in her vomit.
Guess it was too long and the thick Board missed that and many other parts.
And the devil imagery throughout... Wow... good job Board.
Because in The Stand, God exists, life is an existential battle between good and evil, and Jesus wins. It's the Stryper of horror novels, even though I like it.
That was waiting for a next book.
Devil was clearly in play to win.
And no end times. This was to continue.
Whoever won, way too much sex.
Board reading Cliff Notes.
Gan, God, I guess they can't tell the difference. I thought they may toss it because a superbug destroyed civilization
Because she's black, everyone knows her name, and her take on racism might make some white kids feel bad. The anti-CRT movement is essentially white backlash plus antigay bigotry.
The asian, latino, arab and jewish parents don't want their kids wasting class time on that either.
AP classes aren't compulsory.
And checking books out of the school library doesn't mean they are in every or any class.
It makes no sense to ban books unless you're somehow going to restrict kids from having access to the internet. So I can't read Gender but I can go watch videos of three dudes and two chicks having sex with a goat and a goose.
The books are also in the public library in town, too.
Conservative parents love to believe that their kids are required to read every book in the school library and attend every drag brunch.
Their hyperbolic fear of everything no doubt gets passed along to their kids and does more damage than any Toni Morrison book. Poor kids.
finding books on just about every topic is what libraries are for.
This is a fair criticism. Especially in the Internet Age. If Conservatives have the family nucleus then should feel comfortable debating school content at the nightly dinner table.
I'll stay on thread topic but let's not act like fear mongering is specific to one political party or ideology.
Well, let's not pretend both sides are the same, because they're not.
You are too deep up one parties ass, amigo.
you see no difference?
Depending on the subject certainly. Overall I'll agree the Republicans are on the defense compared to for example the early 2000s, when I hated them
But it's not as profound as you paint.
so, not the same
They are both . You're not defending a hero.
No, I'm not. You don't have to be a hero to be better than the Republican party. They can both be and one is better than the other. It would practically be a miracle if both were exactly as bad.
Did your life change much from Trump to Biden?
I have family members consumed by political media and they see a villian. It's mostly just rich people arguing with each other in public so they can toast behind closed doors.
I'm going to focus on you. On this board you are most interested in these topics such as CRT & Woke. These are fringe issues ofcourse you see the other side as some evil en y. Ultimately judging by election results the parties have never been closer!
