    ^ hates the Bill of Rights. Longs for Stalinism in the US.
    Way off. Run of the mill EU style social democracy would be enough for me, tbh. Wouldn't have to ditch the Bill of Rights for that, nor do I think we should.

    DeSantis to call special session of legislature to fight vaccine mandates

    he also wants to enact protections for workers against employers' vaccine mandates through legislation.

    "If anyone has been forced to do an injection and has an adverse reaction, that business should be liable for that, any damages, you have to do it because that's on them, it wasn't an individual choice."

    DeSantis acknowledged that state laws could conflict with the federal rules, which could take precedence at least in some instances, which is why he said he also plans to sue to seek to invalidate the federal rules.

    Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) also signed an executive order seeking to block business vaccine mandates.

    wants legislation to "reaffirm that government en ies including school districts may not fire any employee based on COVID-19 vaccine status," and to give parents "the freedom to opt their children out of mask mandates."

    The Capitalist oligarchy and Repugs are working to make America fail, fail into fascism.

    They are succeeding. There's no stopping them.

    The cool thing about run of the mill EU style social democracy is that you would still be able to whine about capitalism

    very true, that's well deserved too.

    for better and for worse, capitalism is devoid of morality and indifferent to people.

    Compared to what?
    In and of itself, no comparison is needed.

    A lot of rich countries invest more in people, infrastructure and various public goods, thereby lowering costs for businesses and -- in the long run -- government itself.

    Step one: Republican politicians and pundits single out election officials for blame for Trump losing last year, or for not declaring election results fraudulent.

    Step two: Brigades of feral Republicans threaten them and their families with death.

    Indeed.

    Submoronic, legally illiterate ranting about criminality is on brand, tbh.

    For Republicans, the law is an instrument to punish and dominate people they don't like or disagree with. Or who have merely embarrassed them.

    The Repug Schutzstaffel now being elected

    With Oath Keepers In State Houses,

    Militia Infiltrate GOP Mainstream

    a list of more than 35,000 members of the Oath Keepers

    obtained by an anonymous hacker and shared with ProPublica by the whistleblower group Distributed Denial of Secrets —

    underscores how the organization is evolving into a force within the Republican Party.

    ProPublica identified

    Clampitt and 47 more state and local government officials on the list, all Republicans:

    10 sitting state lawmakers;

    two former state representatives;

    one current state assembly candidate;

    a state legislative aide;

    a city council assistant;

    county commissioners in Indiana, Arizona and North Carolina;

    two town aldermen;

    sheriffs or constables in Montana, Texas and Kentucky;

    state investigators in Texas and Louisiana; and

    a New Jersey town's public works director.

    ProPublica's analysis also found more than

    400 people who signed up for membership or newsletters using government, military or political campaign email addresses,

    including

    candidates for Congress and sheriff,

    a retired assistant school superintendent in Alabama, and

    an award-winning elementary school teacher in California.

    Three of the state lawmakers on the list had already been publicly identified with the Oath Keepers.

    Other outlets have
    also scoured thelist, finding police officers and military veterans.

    https://www.nationalmemo.com/oath-keepers-republicans

    bloodless, soft neofascist takeover of USA is now looking less bloodless.

    oligarchical Capitalist/Christian fascism is inevitable, and the non-oligarch fascists think they will benefit.

    Any Oath Keepers here to admit membership?
