House GOP Says Pentagon Budget Is Safe—But Social Security and Medicare Aren't

"House Republicans are openly plotting to hold the full faith and credit of the United States hostage—

because they want to force cuts to Social Security and Medicare,"

use their narrow majority in the House to pursue steep federal spending cuts have sent a clear message in recent days

"I'm all for a balanced budget, but we're not going to do it on the backs of our troops and our military."

"If we really want to talk about the debt and spending, it's the en lement programs,"

there was broad agreement spending cuts should focus on NON-DEFENSE discretionary spending,"

    infinite bull from Repugs

House GOP to focus COVID panel on virus origins, pandemic spending

the 12-member Select Committee on the Coronavirus Response will be charged with examining the origins of the pandemic, including federal funding of gain-of-function research.

the GOP would have the authority to lob subpoenas at the administration to force it to hand over do ents,

Republicans have been frustrated with what they see as the administration’s unaccountable coronavirus spending and are looking to shine a spotlight on where the relief money has gone.

Repug voter fraud, everywhere and always, only way they can win

Bibles can now vote in Kentucky

The genesis of the Faith-Based Voting Rights Act

The statute is the brainchild of Governor Canard, a lifelong evangelical and Republican.

He states Jesus spoke to him through a piece of toast a few months ago.

After Jesus demanded every King James Bible vote in Kentucky,

the LORD supposedly told the Governor to eat the slightly burnt toast in remembrance of Him.

“I had my very own communion ceremony in the breakfast nook,” Governor Canard stated.

“I washed down Jesus’ flesh with a shot of tomato juice.”

The bill was written up and overwhelmingly passed in the legislature.

Many state representatives and senators admit they didn’t read what they voting on.

    They confess as long as it’s faith-based and biblical it’s a no-brainer.

Alabama attorney general considering prosecuting women who take abortion pills

warning women in his state to not think they can get around the state's laws against abortion by taking abortion pills.

he was open to prosecuting women who take abortion pills

even though Alabama's abortion law explicitly targets abortion providers for prosecution and

says that women who receive abortions should not be subject to criminal charges.

Texas Republican wants to secure the border by defunding department tasked with border security

the Texas Republican has introduced his own border security plan:

defund the department that oversees border security, apparently.

Roy urged his colleagues during a House speech Monday

“to stop funding a Department of Homeland Security that refuses to secure the border of the United States.”

He promised that the newly-empowered Republicans would do that “this year.”

Accurate foreshadowing of inevitable Repug fascism

    House GOP follows Monday’s

vote to protect the rich with

    votes to protect the insurrectionists

they passed a rules package that guarantees more chaos and a government shutdown.

the motion to vacate the chair—it’s pretty much guaranteed that Kevin McCarthy’s hold on that gavel will be questioned.

also passed a series of budget rules that will guarantee a confrontation with the Democratic Senate and White House when it comes time to raise the debt ceiling and fund the government, guaranteeing a government shutdown.

    that’s what they’re itching for—that fight.

And because they are so fiscally conservative, they also
    passed that

a bill to strip the IRS of the $70 billion it received last year in the big end-of-the-year funding package,

a move that would add $114 billion to the deficit over the next decade.

Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan’s new McCarthy-style witch trial committee

the “Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government,” in which they will weaponize the House against perceived political enemies.

Among the Q weirdos and other right wing bags, this will be Bible truth, revealed by God.

    How will Fox handle it?

Repugs and Fox are also repeatedly calling Biden "compromised"

I bet it's the strategy leading to impeaching, "performatively", Biden in the next couple years.

Symbolic Wyoming Proposal Urges Voluntary Phase-out of EV Purchases by 2035

Though the state of Wyoming is home to one of America's largest wind farms, "Wyoming's legislature is considering a resolution that calls for a phaseout of new electric vehicle sales by 2035," reports Engadget: In the proposed resolution, a group of lawmakers led by Senator Jim Anderson says Wyoming's "proud and valued" oil and gas industry has created "countless" jobs and contributed revenue to the state's coffers. They add that a lack of charging infrastructure within Wyoming would make the widespread use of EVs "impracticable" and that the state would need to build "massive amounts of new power generation" to "sustain the misadventure of electric vehicles." SJ4 calls for residents and businesses to limit the sale and purchase of EVs voluntarily, with the goal of phasing them out entirely by 2035.

If passed, the resolution would be entirely symbolic. In fact, it's more about sending a message to EV advocates than banning the vehicles altogether. To that point, the final section of SJ4 calls for Wyoming's Secretary of State to send President Biden and California Governor Gavin Newsom copies of the resolution. "One might even say tongue-in-cheek, but obviously it's a very serious issue that deserves some public discussion," Senator Boner, one of the bill's co-sponsors, told the Cowboy State Daily. "I'm interested in making sure that the solutions that some folks want to the so-called climate crisis are actually practical in real life. I just don't appreciate when other states try to force technology that isn't ready."

    Justifying Attack on Social Security,

    a policy change that would

    'Lying doesn't matter anymore':

Former Republican congressman on how politics changed in the Santos era

former Rep. Denver Riggleman (R-VA) attacked the contemporary Republican Party as being meaningless when it comes to the truth.

I don't know where you can work, draw a paycheck let alone be paid by taxpayers, other than the Republican Party in Congress. What does that say?"

"I think what you're seeing with Santos and it's other people, too,

if you look at Marjorie Taylor Greene,

the lies have been so normalized, the base doesn't care. nor does the Capitalist oligarchy

They just care about who is voting for what.

    Lying doesn't matter anymore.

I've always said the two-party system wouldn't survive social media.

I thought the fringes would get their moment.

I don't know how we get out of this right now

because Santos is voting the way he wants certain people to vote.

He voted for McCarthy for Speaker.

    His lies, his immoralities,
his different names, all that stuff doesn't matter to these individuals,

because it's about the party over country, every single time."

Trump White House can keep president's visitors log a secret, appeals court rules
