99 Spurs were pretty weak imo. Maybe weaker than this Sun's team. Their perimeter players were crap and only rang because Krause wanted to be a moron and Ewing fell apart.

The Knicks played way better without Ewing. That’s where the term the Ewing effect came from.
The spurs also had the best record that year and were 15-2 in the post season. Not sure how that could be a weak team for a team putting up that type of record.

I said he was a more offensive minded Horry type but not as mentally tough, obviously or as good on defense.
I saw him as a borderline all star at best like a poor man's Odom. But watch he will play better once he leaves...empty numbers for a mediocre team may get him in once or twice. But I doubt he will ever be a all star lock type player. HE is NOT talented enough.

Krause was very good at infusing new life into them with new additions over the years like Kukoc/Kerr, Brian Williams, etc. They would not have just stood pat.
