Yet another Louisiana hit. And once again, they're downplaying the intensity. From Arthur to Zeta, 2020 has been downright insane.

Ugh go into Florida, I'm sick of these Louisiana hurricanes blowing humid air into Texas every ing time we actually get some nice cool weather.

This one looks like a real Metairie/NOLA hit unlike the last two which hit near the LA/TX border.

Impossible, the Zetas rape and breed every hapless young lady they come across, on both sides of the border tbh.

BTW the "Winter Storm Billy" thing is a NBC/The Weather Channel made up concoction, it's not an official name as per government/NOAA standards. Purely private sector unofficial naming of the winter storms for about a decade now.

This one doesn't need to force it. It's young and vigorous. Very...vigorous

90-100 mph hurricane isn't necessarily too weak, but it will be fast moving due to the cold front coming in from the west so the risk for a large storm surge and extended rainfall is minimal.

Possibly a weak Cat 2 but Cat 1 more likely due to the speed. Just left the office. The streets look like business as usual right now. No real concern other than probably losing power this evening.

They're in for a big surprise. Strong Cat 2 and could make a run at major Cat 3 status (only 10 mph away) and very large and well organized:

The way it's hitting is concerning... The only good news is the forward speed is faster than, say, Katrina, but the landfall intensity will be scarily similar... Saints might need to cancel all their home games the rest of the year.

The way it's hitting... could simply dump Lake P into the big bowl again on its way out, just like in '05. Also, I read somewhere that the pumps in NOLA are currently shut down for construction/maintenance... this could be a MAJOR disaster, on the eave of the election to boot.

NOLA got lucky with other storms since '05 like Gustav, Isaac etc since they hit from a different angle... this one is hitting at a similar angle as Katrina and further west than Katrina... could be the worst thing NOLA has had since Katrina herself.

Each and every ardent, astute Millennial knows this track from childhood and what it means... in the era before NBC ruined The Weather Channel for good... It is Kairotic, kairos, in the moment... let it flow, let it flow, let it flow... all into the great big bowl...

Lost power for 30 minutes or so, it’s back now. Pretty impressive winds to see in person, but nothing devastating. I’m sure people right on the coast felt the wrath. I’m sure the media will bas ize it as devastating, but nothing happened other than some outages and probably some fallen trees & fences. People will be back at work here tomorrow.
