like this is why there was federal preclearance of election laws in Georgia until 2013, when Justice Roberts declared racism over in the USA in Shelby Co. v. Holder
“Georgia Senate GOP push for end to no-excuse absentee voting”
https://electionlawblog.org/?p=119407Republicans in Georgia’s state Senate are calling for an end to absentee voting without cause and want to ban ballot drop boxes, after an increase in mail voting helped propel Democrat Joe Biden to a narrow victory over President Donald Trump in the state.
Trump has for months made unsubstantiated claims about the integrity of mail-in votes and has made baseless claims of widespread fraud in Georgia’s presidential election. GOP election officials have vehemently and repeatedly disputed those claims, saying there is no evidence of systemic errors or fraud in the November election.
Im drunk on these GOP tears
the texas isn't gonna go anywhere...
the only case that trump could legitimately get relief at this point is PA, relating to ballots that were postmarked on or before Nov 3, and received from Nov 4 - 6. SCOTUS previously ruled 4-4 on this and ordered them to segregate those ballots, which they did.
but that only amounted to about 10k votes, so even that isn't going to swing anything. and that assuming SCOTUS throws it out. its conceivable they slap down the law prospectively, but still keep the votes in the count... there is precedent to that effect, that you dont punish voters for following guidelines that were given to them. or if they just call it moot because the 10k votes cant change the results.
the other PA case more broadly attacking the no-excuse mail in ballots (the one SCOTUS denied today) was an easy call on laches... but they had timely raised the post-election day ballot issue, so that one will probably actually be heard on the merits

What an absurdity of a tweet. chris
Boom.
Chumpettes going to be taking their cues from CNN legal analyst in between faps.
All SCOTUS did yesterday was order the respondents to file a reply to Texas’s motion for leave. That’s not voting to hear the lawsuit, they haven’t even granted leave yet.
back in the tall weeds
LOL let's throw out the election for the sake of election integrity. Same kind of bull Paul Ryan used to say about abolishing Medicare so he could save it.
"Election integrity is central to our republic. "
... motivates GA to close early voting locations in black/brown/Native American areas as part of racist Confederate Repugs assuring election integrity of the Senate runoffs to make sure every WHITE vote counts more
The Supreme Court hasn't taken the case yet, derp
derp has already called for martial law
Lmao biggest denier swimming in an ocean of denial trying to criticize someone else for being in denial.
Even irony can’t hold in its laughter at that one.
