The Republican war on voting is picking up considerably in reaction to Trump's landslide loss to Sleepy Joe.

It's remarkable how willing Republicans are to trash electoral democracy and popular sovereignty to cling to power.

Let's get real here, what are they supposed to do? They're in the wrong side of almost everything, and sometimes even proud of it.

Can't claim moral high ground, especially after the last administration.

Can't claim economic superiority when the last two GOP administrations destroyed the economy.

Decidedly sided with white supremacists and confederate traitors.

The only really good thing they have going for them is that it's democrats on the other side. Sooner or later they end up shooting themselves in the foot (see Shillary).

I mean, if not for the Senate having skewed representation and the Electoral College, they probably would not have been in power for over a decade now.

Well, they could try to win by using their power to enact broadly popular policies. They could also try dial back the cruelty and spite toward outgroups, and talk to them on their level. There are lots of things the GOP could do to grow its base, I guess they'd prefer not to.
