At this point, I can't even fault the people given these asinine guidelines and told to carry them out.
"Here is a set of guidelines for your job that are kinda vague, and not really all that effective, but it is your job to carry them out."
I think the cost to benefit ratio went out the window years ago.
Is there any group of people on a plane anymore that would let themselves get hijacked after 9-11?
9-11 wasn't even over, and flight 93 painted a pretty conclusive picture in my mind as to whether or not a group of airline passengers would sit there and let themselves get killed by a buncha jack asses.
We think nothing of getting into our cars and find it perfectly acceptable that 38,000 DIE in traffic accidents every ing year.
Why are we worried about one or even two plane loads a year? Sure it would be more spectacular.
We seem collectively to shrug off tens of thousands of deaths as an acceptable trade off to have cars, why can't we accept a plane or two as a cost of doing business, get rid of most of this ineffective bull and get on with our lives?

I have always been extremely disgusted by this .
The same action which would label a person a ing paedophile and land them in prison with sexual molestation charges are a-okay when it's the TSA groping your child to make sure they aren't a terrorist.

This is not only TSA. In the US, security guards in stores believe that they are cops, cops believe that they are judges...You give little power to people over others and some will abuse it and become authoritarians.
