It is what it is. Except in this case, where it's not what it is at all.
I'm not trying to with y'all. I hope it isn't true. Not because I think he is doing a great job, but because there hasn't been a clear cut replacement that has my confidence. Coach Bud would have been great years ago. Coach Hammon, no matter how highly people think of her, hasn't had a long tenure and probably hasn't learned enough to be a good coach yet.
It is what it is. Except in this case, where it's not what it is at all.
Is this based on a recent report? I mean, we all assume this is his last year, right?
Probably being tapped for Biden's cabinet, tbh
I approve tbh. Just take Forbes with you, Pop.
I’ve low key thought the same, it’s just weird we haven’t heard anything with the season starting so soon, I think because of that he may stay one more year, but with the covid cases ing plus the Olympics coming up he’d be crazy busy
It’s something OP pulled out of his ass.
I just hope the team is left in good hands.
Is that something I normally do?
he has to run for office in texas TBH.
I've got nothing to gain.
If it's true, then I hate it.
If it's false, then I'll be happy.
Automatic pinking for any past or future s posters that post "Pop is retiring" chit.
No he’s not. OP is making up assumptions. Flopovich ain’t going nowhere
Nah, it's from a source, not an assumption of mine. Whether I'm going to listen to this source in the future depends on what news we hear in the coming days...
I will say this isn't too groundbreaking. It has been odd they didn't get a better assistant to co lead with becky, but a new coach would bring in new assistants so hiring a assistant only to fire them would be dumb. Obv Pop did good in the bubble but could not be blamed for lacking the energy to redesign an offense in the 2 weeks after the draft and sell tickets as the face of he franchise during a deep recession.
Add to that, if we are trading the vets pop loses his generational lifeline and friends. It's a hard ing job!
Not saying it's true but could that be the real reason TD stepped down as assistant?
The bubble worked for Pop. There's no telling how the new format will work and how safe it will be. We've already seen how unsuccessful other sports leagues have been this year. Does the NBA really want to risk losing an older coach to COVID and the publicity that comes along with it? Now, I'm not sure if these other leagues have a coach as old as Pop... I'm just saying why the rumor could likely be true.
I just hope the next coach won't give too much freedom to players and will demand as much respect as Pop did when he or she sits a player down. If we don't have that stern and harsh coaching anymore, we will just be like any other team in the league, overrun by divas.
Bryn Forbes is in tears.
Bill Self finally taking over?
Could be but, I don't expect him to retire until after the season at the earliest.
