No. At some point he’s going to say something like “My life was so much better before I became president so I’m deciding to go back to it even though if I kept fighting the Democrats in court I would have easily won!”

There's the possibilty he'll resign so that Pence can pardon him.
He has already said he has the absolute power to pardon himself.

That remains to be seen if that would legally hold, which logically shouldn't.

Bet he's just going to go back home to New York after the new year.
Disagree, Melania will banish Donald to "Southern White House" aka Mar-a-Lago.

    (also, legal troubles in NY.)

Wouldn’t be shocked if he goes full QAnon and claims “I was on the verge of exposing the pedos before they rigged the election!”

Child sex trafficking prosecutions went down under Trump.

Here's what the DOJ says about the Jeffrey Epstein no prosecute deal made by US Att'y and former Trump Sec'y of Labor Alex Acosta

Statement on DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility Report on Jeffrey Epstein 2006-2008 Investigation

The executive summary of a report by the Department of Justice’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) was released today to affected victims. The summary, which is available on the Justice Department website, provides the essential details about the findings of OPR’s investigation into the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida’s resolution of its 2006–2008 federal criminal investigation of Jeffrey Epstein and its interactions with victims during the investigation.

While OPR did not find that Department attorneys engaged in professional misconduct, OPR concluded that the victims were not treated with the forthrightness and sensitivity expected by the Department. OPR also concluded that former U.S. Attorney Acosta exercised poor judgment by deciding to resolve the federal investigation through the non-prosecution agreement and when he failed to make certain that the state of Florida intended to and would notify victims identified through the federal investigation about the state plea hearing.

Sounds great. Put that on PPV and charge other countries for viewer rights. The money raised could probably pay for another round of stimulus checks.

Trump does not want to concede or relinquish the power of the presidency. Trump's ego would never allow (video) evidence of him embarrassingly being forcibly removed to ever happen. Those two virtual certainties squarely put Trump in his own personal quandary.

So, as some have suggested, he either leaves the White House well before something like that happens, does not return, and continues to discredit the legitimacy of the election from afar. Or he remains defiant, and when that time comes for him to leave, he demands they use some secret White House passage for them to escort him out so no reporters or TV cameras can witness it. Then he vanishes in the wind, maybe on Stephen Miller's broomstick or Rudy Giuliani's pornwagon.

    He's not vanishing either way.

He's gonna run in 2024 and, as long as his health doesn't totally deteriorate in the next 4 years, there's jack the GOP can do to stop him from getting the nomination. GOP voters have been getting programmed to support authoritarian strongmen for the last 25 years, there's no way to reverse that programming before the 2024 primary.

There's also nothing the GOP can do if Trump decides to tell them what to do as president-in-exile. There's a non-trivial chance that Trump will remain the de facto leader of the GOP after he leaves the White House.

yes, 74M voters convinces he's got a winning base that believes they were cheated, and

yes, the nominal, establishment Repugs can't stop him.

The Repug Senate will obstruct the House Dems 100% to deepen and prolong the Repug health/economic catastrophe as a campaign strategy for 2022.

Biden won't get a single judge seated.

If Repugs take the House in 2022, Trash will certainly run again.

To be fair, I'm not sure if the GOP has a strategy with a better chance at winning than Trumpism has. A lot of the new voters the Dems activated for this election aren't going to stop voting, so the GOP can't afford for the first time voters Trump activated to walk away. I know Democrats think Charlie Baker and Larry Hogan would be great candidates because they're more "moderate", but I don't see how the GOP can win with a candidate who preaches decency and centrism.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I wasn't suggesting he'd vanish from politics, although I'm not convinced he runs in 2024 mostly because of his age. I meant vanished into the night of a would-be forcible removal. Instead of the media witnessing that embarrassment, he'll slip away unseen. He wouldn't allow anyone to watch him being humiliated.

Every single one of Biden's staff should whip out their cell phones, and record it.

What worries me is how much he really has convinced himself that he can stay. Hard to know exactly what is going on in his head. At this point, I wouldn't put it past him to just not leave. He has said as much that he might not.

He would reason "they wouldn't really do that to me" and the notion that he might have to be forcibly removed wouldn't occur to him.

    Big King Lear energy

President Trump, in his final days, is turning bitterly on virtually every person around him, griping about anyone who refuses to indulge conspiracy theories or hopeless bids to overturn the election, several top officials tell Axios.

The latest: Targets of his outrage include Vice President Pence, chief of staff Mark Meadows, White House counsel Pat Cipollone, Secretary of State Pompeo and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Why it matters: Trump thinks everyone around him is weak, stupid or disloyal — and increasingly seeks comfort only in people who egg him on to overturn the election results. We cannot stress enough how unnerved Trump officials are by the conversations unfolding inside the White House.

Top officials are trying to stay away from the West Wing right now.

From the White House to a white padded cell. Just make sure there's a small table in there and he won't know the difference.
