Not a scrub, definitely a got, just makes it even better that diego punked him twice.

Maradona got 15 months for cocaine, the first offence, next longest cocaine suspension was 9 months for repeated offenses

4 positive doping cases in the history of the world cup, first one no sanction, second one no sanction, third one no sanction, Maradona? 15 months, for ephedrine. European players do steroids in domestic / champion league and get 3 months.

And of course, when else have you ever seen a nurse enter the field and take a player away for a test?
    -on

got was sweating and ting his pants in the quarter finals vs Cameroon in 1990, they gave him

After a long long time, I cried. The news hit me hard.
    I absolutely loved Diego.
The man brought so many moments of happiness during my childhood.

RIP GOAT. You still live in my heart.

The diego highlights have no equal tbqh

Best ever by far its not even close

I unfortunately never seen him play live. Best I got to see live was Ronaldinho

Didnt know that Diego once invited a young Ronaldinho to a street game in Buenos Aires and told him "you are my hope for future of soccer"

Supposedly Ronaldinho started crying like a child.

Yep. We have many threads where we compare Maradona and Messi. Even today some people turned Maradona's tribute thread in typical Maradona vs Messi thread.

    Better than Messi
10 posts in. So petty, tbh.

I don't know why FIFA doesn't copy NBA 2K and gets historic teams into the game. '86 Argentina, '70 Brazil, '74 Holland, '90s Milan, River Plate's "La Máquina". They would break all-time record sales.

Eder, Zico, Socrates, Falcao, Junior, Cerezo
    Serginho is optional

On a technical level and overall skill, touch and pure football talent:

I love Ronaldinho and you can argue he was more creative than Diego, but nobody comes close to diego controlling the ball.

Diego was a juggler first, and a player second. He could do whatever he wanted to with the ball, or a lemon, or a golf ball, or a piece of paper.

But comparisons like that are just not simple, tbh, pitches are perfect nowadays, they were junk back then, the ball was heavier too, and the way those nigs used to get kicked mercilessly.

Fortunately that kind of violence in the game is more or less gone right now.

i dont play footie games for a long time, but PES3/WE6 back in the day had classic teams you could unlock with all time rosters, obviously argentina and brasil were there.. also in the create your own team mode you could unlock legends, i remember i had an attack of maradona garrincha and distefano, my buddy had ronaldo, van basten and cruyff.. good times, hard to believe it hasnt been done in 18-20 years

You were allowed to tackle all the way up to the hip back then... it was a yellow at worst... it was brutal to watch though.

But that's why calcio was the #1 league back in the day, nobody matched them physically.

Ronaldo played in the PL during the 00's, Messi used to get mauled by Ramos, Pepe and Carvalho every El Classico. Nostalgia making some fans overrate past eras as usual.
