I prefer for COVID to kill them vs. people who aren't thumbing their noses at science. Maybe his death will cause others in his circle to take things more seriously.

So basically him not wearing a mask at times probably had little to nothing to do with this guy getting COVID. I mean, we aren't monitoring who's washing their hands or using poor hygiene practices with masks and other PPE.

I'm not saying he shouldn't have worn a mask, it's a bag move to go without one around others. However let's not keep getting the cart before the horse and pretending the mask protects the wearer when in reality it most likely offers very little protection sans all the other caveats. If you're going to say someone deserved to die because they didn't wear a mask, then how many of the total deaths were people who "deserved to die"? Of course those not in politics get a pass (unless they ever tweeted about masks from a conservative standpoint), because that blame can be placed on the outgoing POTUS.

Stop the nonsense. Science for decades has shown cloth masks to be useless. No one will ever know what is happening due to pcr tests.

I've read scientific testing on various mask types and the efficacy comes down to layers and the density of the threading but they do have relative levels of effectiveness.

I would ask you to provide a scientific journal that states what you claim and if you do I'll show you eight that don't.

You're being obtuse intentionally.

Masks either protect you from a virus or they do not protect you from a virus. The efficacy of masks didn't change in 2020. The CDC already stated masks do not protect you from the virus. The reason they changed their advice was to mitigate the spread from asymptomatic individuals. Now the narrative has shifted to "masks protect you" without science to back that up. The CDC knew what level of protection masks offered even in 2019. For them to say they do not protect you from the virus, then to turn around and say "but they might prevent you from spreading it if you have it" just reinforces the notion that they do not protect the wearer.

None of this is an argument against mask wearing. It's simply an argument against the claim that someone caught COVID because they weren't wearing a mask.
