one wonders what would have happened had Mike Pence or members of Congress been killed by a mob that day. all that was missing was some precipitating event to declare a state of emergency. short of that, prevailing on Mike Pence throw out the election might have done the job, given the chaos that would ensue.

in fairness, we don't know who made the Power Point demo. no one's names are on it, we just know that it was on the cellphone Mark Meadows turned over to the Jan 6th committee.

I think they were counting on a mob to overrun the US Capitol and kill Mike Pence so they could declare a national security emergency, or otherwise to delay certification so Trump could be declared the winner of the election by legalistic shenanigans. There's nothing afaik that says certification of EC votes has to happen on Jan. 6th.
