These are people who go to 2nd amendment demonstrations more heavily armed than the Marine Corp. I would expect to see quite a bit of footage of them brandishing if they were, in fact, carrying.

Capital Police were either pinned down or on the run for 4 hours before help arrived. Completely outmanned and underresourced.
Not downplaying anything. Everyone who went in there should be charged.
But show the footage of the armed mob trying to take over the capitol with guns. There's endless hours of footage out there. Let's see it.

ChumpDumper is right, we know the mob was armed because weapons were seized. Their numerical superiority was such that no guns were needed to overpower the US Capitol Police. The fact that deadliest force wasn't used in no way mitigates the seriousness of the attack on the US Government that day.
It was violent. It was deadly. The US Congress was in danger.
