In other words. "He'll be back when he's back." Pop shutting down any future talk about whites return because he knows its coming. Lol
Get healthy soon, derrick.
Let the tank continue.
My bright side analysis: at least it's not an ACL and it's just a toe
So he fractured the toe that was previously dislocated that needed surgery? I'm guessing he's going to be out a long while.
Man, that sucks.
Doesn’t sound promising. As much as it’d be fun to have him back, make sure he gets fully healthy (or as healthy as can be). Feet are nothing to be messed with.
Feels like tank is on in 3..2..1
Past NBA players with toe fractures?
Onyeka Okongwu (current)
Shaq
These are the only two so far I've found
Did we rush him back or is it simply as has been reported, an unfortunate reoccurrence?
I think he’ll be back 1st week of February.
Not a great look for the medical staff but it sounds like a coincidence. Then again, they didn't release much info about the initial surgery so it's difficult to tell if it's related.
Checked a few medical sites. Sounds like it may take 4-8 weeks.
See ya in March, derrick.
Tough break. Really concerned about his injury problems, I hope he doesn’t have a short career like Brandon Roy did due to injuries.
My guess is White will be out two months. He might heal quicker than that but the Spurs and White can't exactly risk him injuring the same toe for a third time in less than six months.
And, yeah, I'm officially worried about his feet. How do you break that bone by landing wrong? Never heard of that, tbh. Add in all his other foot injuries and that contract extension suddenly doesn't look as hot
That sucks for Derrick and NBA fans. Get well soon.
I assume Vassell stays with the main club for now?
‘Great opportunity for Lonnie to cement himself as a true rotation piece for the Spurs future.
Spurs getting hit with a bad string of luck after 22 years of success.
Eubanks, Poetle, White following that Carroll signing last year. Worst batch of long-term signings in the last 20 odd years.
What is a minor fracture?
Also, didn’t he play in the second half? The fact that he did, even though he was injured in the 2Q, means the injury can’t be that serious.
Foot injuries can be chronic and career-changing for basketball players. Just ask Bill Walton and James Anderson among others.
