No it isn't, Qhris. I'm ok with Voter ID, but continually restricting the time and places to vote, along with outlawing assistance to voters that have to deal with long lines (inevitable in big cities, where the GOP performs poorly), is no spin, it's textbook disenfranchisement.
Hopefully they have a change of heart after losing another election there, and make it actually easier for legal voters to cast their vote and participate in democracy, tbh.

Fair. When I was Left I had that viewpoint of populism as well. Hey any extreme is bad. Nationalism + Guns is dangerous. But this ideology belongs in every functioning nation, to whatever extreme they choose.
The liberalism I grew up with, supported and I feel I still do on certain issues; has also changed. I am not "done with the party" etc. But to my earlier point, there are also factions of the Left that have turned extreme and this drove me away. At the moment.

The elements of the "right" that want the police state / big military are in law enforcement / national security for the most part.
