How do you guys feel about the new QB? I’ve heard mixed reviews from a few podcasts. Some love the guy and some feel like he hasn’t had enough compe ion.
The guy is an athletic freak. I've seen video of him tossing the football 74 yards. He is 6'5 and runs like a receiver. With all that said, he didn't playlast year due to Covid so we haven't seen him in anything other than 7 on 7. Oh he kills it in 7 on 7 against elite 4'star prospects.
When it comes to QBs, I trust Sark 100%. It's the one thing he is best at.
All things being equal, we don't have Bama's offensive linemen yet, so a QB that can move and do a little Vince Young will help us a lot more than a QB who looks like a stump on a log. Ge this kid out on the edge in run/ pass option will kill some people.
If he will let Sark fix his throwing motion to shorten it up he will have a much quicker release. That is a discussion after we get him on campus.
I truly think if Sark can take a 3 star in Mac Jones and turn him into Heisman runner up, he can take a 5 star with a monster arm (not so sure about the athletic legs yet) and make him a serviceable to great qb. The line needs to be top notch.
Agree on Sark developing QBS. Also on legs seems to be a ploder. Still gteat ranking for a QB who has not scored a TD or passed for one. See what senior season brings maybe he recruits Greene.
