WR Shazz Preston commits to Alabama.
Another O-Lineman. Can't have enough really. Devon Campbell is down to OU and Texas. He is still the best player in the state in my opinion.
i believe he isn't announcing until january.
Texas has a huge class. I think in the era of NIL and Transfer Portal craziness that it makes sense to go as big as possible.... Texas will undoubtedly have attrition this upcoming season.
The NIL stuff seems to have helped Texas and yet I still hate it. I'm all for paying players a stipend or extra stipend but NIL is just turning what was already the wild wild west into pure lunacy.
I'm not against NIL. Coaching salaries are going up every year. Why not legalize paying players?
It's really thrown out even the plausibility of the NCAA being "amateur" sports anymore. I guess that was maybe already gone, but I think it's sad for the compe ive landscape especially for smaller schools or those not in big markets.
They absolutely should be able to profit off of their likeness.
But with no "salary cap" this is just going to further separate the haves and the have nots
Right, and it even goes further than that. You will even have "haves and have nots" within the same team. I'm not sure that's good for guys who are still in college.
yeah this is already starting to get out of hand a bit, and could get extreme really fast. they gotta cap it somehow
Coaches are going to have problems imo. This is where leadership within the locker and among the coaches becomes critical.
Mix the NIL with the transport portal and its more likely to create divisions within a team.
And some of the players getting paid more than the coaches, just like the pros... kinda weird
I don't how they legally could. There's no endorsement cap in pro ball either.
Only one offensive lineman? correct? Cole Hutson.
I really think OL benefit a great deal from starting early.
true
yeah NCAA football is about done for, SEC gonna create something new and the league is going to be drastically different
Agreed, but many of them hoop or participate in track and field in the spring.
