Then he sent checks, twice, to everybody. Not only that, the economy when into the ter thanks to his incompetence with the pandemic, so those $1.8 trillion ain't coming.

The only thing clear from that graph is that alleged fiscal hawks (aka partisan hacks) only care about the deficit when a (D) is in office.
nobody said anything about spending cuts. trump spent as much as anyone. deficits went up every year under trump, even before covid.
the tax cuts added to the deficit because trump didn't reign in spending at all. tax cuts will always cut into revenue (despite the "broaden the base" rhetoric), so in theory, if you wanted to keep the budget balanced, you'd have to cut spending alongside cuts in taxes. trump didnt do that. nor did anybody else who ran on tax cuts, including reagan, under whom the deficit first started blowing up.
the only way trump's tax cut bill was able to get through via reconciliation is that they had to make the tax cuts to the working/middle class temporary (while keeping the corporate tax cuts permanent
