It doesn't matter who he is. The act of going to Cancun when Texas is experiencing this type of situation does not rise to the level of neglect. Unless you can show something he should be doing in Texas to help resolve the issue, he can do his job just fine from Cancun. He's a senator, not a governor. The partisan goggles you folks wear makes you sound re ed to someone like me who is an actual honest broker and see things clearly.

It shouldn't be difficult to achieve bipartisan agreement that a US Senator shouldn't use local police resources to take his family out of the country while his state is facing a major weather disaster.
But when your self worth is tied to your political "team" it's ride or die at all costs. Even if you have to stoop to the level of defending Ted in Cruz.
