He'd been in LA? So he was in LA while the team was in Charlotte?

    Man.......

that sucks. Not to mention the fact he wasn’t there (I’m guessing he is still in Charlotte but don’t know) when he passed away

Does every photo have to be today, or at all current? He went home a few weeks ago to see his pops. Missed two games. That’s probably when the photo was taken.

He visited him earlier in the season. He missed a couples games to do so.

Not sure if he was able to be with him when he passed, but unlikely considering he is probably still in COVID protocols.

Really sad news for DeMar. You can argue about his efficiency as a basketball player (and many do), but he seems like a truly good and caring guy. He's been nothing but professional throughout a situation that wasn't of his choosing, and seems to have embraced the Spur that is on his chest when he puts on his jersey.

As someone who has lost a father who was 57, it's a traumatic event. It changes you, and it takes a long time to shake off (you never really do). And I was fortunate enough to be at my dad's bedside when he passed, and be with my family while we made arrangements for a proper funeral.

DeMar may not be able to do any of those things. He will be stuck in isolation and is still not even out of the exposure period so wouldn't be allowed in any hospitals. For all we know, he may be one of the four Spurs diagnosed.

Best wishes to DeMar and his entire family. He is still a Spur, and it sucks to see any Spur have to experience this type of grief.

I was referring more to OP's post saying "DeMar had been in LA tending to his ill father the past week." Makes it sound like he left the team in Charlotte.

Nice post, and I'm sorry about your dad. I know time doesn't ever heal that type of loss completely, only makes it more manageable.

My dad passed in his early 60's. He and I were close, and I didn't get to be there when he passed. It's rough, and I totally feel for DD. He's a stand-up guy, and, I think, someone who represents what the Spurs are about really well. He gets slammed in here, but people on this site historically have slammed every Spurs player not named Duncan at some point.
