https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/25/b...efamation.htmlSome of the biggest names at Fox News have been questioned, or are scheduled to be questioned in the coming days, by lawyers representing Dominion Voting Systems in its $1.6 billion defamation suit against the network, as the election technology company presses ahead with a case that First Amendment scholars say is extraordinary in its scope and significance.
Sean Hannity became the latest Fox star to be called for a deposition by Dominion’s legal team, according to a new filing in Delaware Superior Court. He is scheduled to appear on Wednesday.
Tucker Carlson is set to face questioning on Friday. Lou Dobbs, whose Fox Business show was canceled last year, is scheduled to appear on Tuesday. Others who have been deposed recently include Jeanine Pirro, Steve Doocy and a number of high-level Fox producers, court records show.[/COLOR]
People with knowledge of the case, who would speak only anonymously, said they expected that the chief executive of Fox News Media, Suzanne Scott, could be one of the next to be deposed, along with the president of Fox News, Jay Wallace. Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, whose family owns Fox, could follow in the coming weeks.
The depositions are among the clearest indications yet of how aggressively Dominion is moving forward with its suit, which is set to go to trial early next year, and of the legal pressure building on the nation’s most powerful conservative media company. There have been no moves from either side to discuss a possible settlement, people with knowledge of the case have said.

When Ronna McDaniel isn't crazy enough for your political party
So, Hannity is now admitting he spread lies, er, was just asking questions.
Stop the Steal was a psyop and Fox carried water for Trump even though they knew it was baloney.
https://abcnews.go.com/US/fox-news-h...ry?id=97261751Fox News anchors and producers privately acknowledged that former President Donald Trump and his allies' allegations of election fraud in the aftermath of the 2020 election were false despite their network's promotion of those claims, according to a new court filing by Dominion Voting Systems.
In a nearly 200-page do ent filed as part of its billion-dollar defamation suit against the network, Dominion Voting Systems shared emails, texts, testimony, and other private communications from Fox News personnel that cast doubt on claims that Dominion's voting machines had somehow rigged the presidential election in Joe Biden's favor.

ST MAGAs will avoid reading the filing as it paints the MAGAs as rubes.
Tucker Carlson wanted a Fox fact-checker fired for debunking a narrative he personally believed was false, because the facts were damaging to the Fox brand and its stock price.
Sounds like reckless disregard
So FOX "news" is just propaganda?
How utterly shocking - never saw that coming!
Cucker Tarlson is just a russian shill?
who knew!
that stuff is pretty damning. winning a defamation case like this, as a public figure, is pretty tough because you have to meet burden of proving "actual malice"... but the contents of the filing (we havent seen the actual exhibits and arent privy to deposition testimony) show that dominion actually has a shot to prove it
now whether they will win the suit via this summary judgment motion is a different question altogether. those are typically quite tough to win because in order to have one granted, you have to demonstrate that there is no dispute (or good faith dispute) of the material facts, and therefore you are simply en led to judgment as a matter of law. all fox has to do to beat this motion is demonstrate that there is a dispute of material facts... ie do these text messages saying that the election stuff was "crazy" actually demonstrate that these people KNEW it was false? or at least acted with reckless disregard as to its falsity? and then the simple act of airing a guy like lindell/guiliani doesnt demonstrate that its fox's speech. so i dno, still think its too murky and dont believe dominion will win via summary judgment. fox can raise those disputes of fact. whether a jury will buy them on the day of trial is an entirely different burden
at the very least its a showcase/preview of what dominion can demonstrate at trial
...and...
that ruffling/thumping/squishing - sound you heard was ...
Rupert Murdoch throwing all the Faux "news" personalities/propagandists
UNDER THE ING BUS!

Tucker knows who butters his bread
"viewpoint diversity at Fox is hurting our brands, this isn't what we signed up for."
More concerned with reputation than facts. Fox's AZ call was correct.
Why do the emails look like 1930s telegrams?
