    well, the arizona republican party is a party to the suit, so they had to explain why they were an interested party relative to the relief sought (ie standing)... so they had to answer in a way that explained why the party would be harmed

    Thanks for legal context, I think my question sort of stands apart from that. I do get that GOP is arguing that it is kosher to discriminate against blacks because they're *generally* Democratic voters.
