the internet has a lot of negative side effects tbh
We're really living in the incel age.
the internet has a lot of negative side effects tbh
I remember around 06 and 07 when everyone was calling each other a virgin on IGN and stuff
Isn't STD's on the rise though?
Probably a trifecta of social media, gaming, and youth decline in sports participation.
I think where social media has had its greatest impact is not necessarily that boys/young men are spending all their time on it, but because girls have probably become much more image conscious in the social media age, translating into a larger pool of "pretty girls" that has outpaced the pool of "alphas or Chads" or whatever you want to call them. Combine this with the fact that the average male in the 18-30 age group is a lump of dough, skinny fat or just fat, and it makes sense why the incel population is growing. And I'm not talking about today's young men being overall weaker than their ancestors. Study: https://app.hedgeye.com/insights/594...our-father-was
It's a simple equation: The US's transition to a service/"skilled" economy, leading to a huge decline of jobs that require physical labor + the decline in sports participation + the rise of gaming. I realize videogames have been around for half-a-century now, but their accessibility has never been greater. Free-to-play games, services like Microsoft's Game Pass, and the current addictive "loot crate" business model of the industry, which keeps gamers spinning the dopamine treadmill.
And then of course there's no shortage of "incel communities" where frustrated virgins can seek out like minds and enter into a negative feedback loop that places women at the center of their problems. When the simple solution really is to turn off your computer, get some sun, lift a few weights, and stop being a bitter asshole .
and the easy access to porn that comes with it
I don't think the porn theory holds, since male sexual activity (or lack thereof) remained rather flat until the sudden e in '08. That year was when social media really started to dig its claws into society, while at the same time, more and more young men were gaming online with the proliferation of Xbox Live. Porn has been easily available on the web since the mid-90s. From the study I linked:
All these social and cultural changes have also left Millennial women in uncharted waters. More face a dating pool where partners of equal education and status are harder to come by, leaving them waiting for men catch up or deciding to go it alone. “They aren’t men,” one young woman told Philadelphia Magazine flatly. “They’re boys.”
I read an article a while back that said young people ain't looking to have kids either. Wise choice, tbh.
That dude koriwhat definitely predicted the rise of this type of man. I remember during freshman year. First PE class, coach wanted us to bench the bar to kind of gauge our strength. I think the bar without plates weighs like 50 pounds. If you could do ten reps, you were good. Everyone in the class breezed through it but Koriwhat couldn't do one ing rep!
Homeboy's arms just collapsed. Imagine trying to balance an anvil on two pieces of licorice and you'll get the picture. And BD, always "that nigg@," started calling koriwhat licorice bones. The name stuck.
And the seniors had fun with ass too. During "hazing week," they snatched his ass, shaved his rat's nest head of hair down to a slanted flat top, and painted him completely green. They made him walk around on campus like that for the day, pulling a little brown donkey pinata behind him. Of course they turned this dude into Gumby on the account of his low muscle mass body which couldn't rep the bar
And the way he was like modern young males today is he was all into nerd fantasy , sketching like goblins and dragons in his notebook. We used to call him the Sandman as well, since pussy would just dry up around him wherever he'd go.
His Gumby body did give him the advantage of being able to take his beatings pretty well, tho. Like @BD would clock him and it's like his fist just sunk into his body, absorbing the blow.
I'll ping Will Hunting since he enjoys these nostalgic recollections about good ol' Joey.
Good point, social media has had a huge impact
By 30 I wonder what the percentage is for 100 notches on the bed post.
The turning point seems to be when online/collaborative gaming took hold.
Now instead of playing Madden or Goldeneye with a few friends, you're playing COD and other stuff with any number of people (primarily male) worldwide, and that turns into an echo chamber of faux masculinity that probably results in less desirable men.
Does it have to be with 100 different women? That would be a lot... even for a super dudebro.
I'm damn sure I've eclipsed the mark of 100 penis-in-vagina sessions, but only with a grand total of 9 (8 prior to last Saturday 3/13) women.
Yeah, but most of the porn around before about 2005 was pay-only. There was a point around 2006-2010 where although Pornhub and Imgur weren't ubiquitous yet, you could still find quality stuff on google images and random small sites that were mainly glitchy and full of ads and popups and trojan-ware if you weren't careful.
I don't quite agree with you on social media. Social media was bigtime from 2004-2008, it just wasn't twitter and instagram, but we had myspace which was a lot more artistic and creative, and facebook in the mix trying to compete with myspace. Also "vlogging" on youtube was a huge thing before twitter became ubiquitous. I remember the "naked vlog" fad of 2007-08. And stuff like 2-girls-1-cup (from '06, for example) social media internet memes on myspace and facebook.
Seems to track more with the economy crashing in 08 and never recovering, eg the jobless recovery. XBox Live got really big in like 06.
It’s also about balance
For me gaming is supposed to be fun, a quick gaming session here and there and that’s about it
Today a lot of games are time consuming, and playing online makes things worse and in many cases addictive
Agreed. XBL has been big since the Xbox 360 came out. And no, they didn't have shortages on consoles back then like they do now. IIRC the Xbox 360 came out right around Katrina. Which was late '05. Xbox Live actually lost a significant market share to PSN in 2013. Hmm, wonder why.
Agreed. I spent a week night-and-day playing Uncharted 4 from beginning to finish one March several years back ('17?). It was addictive and the storyline was immersive. Didn't see my wife the whole week except to eat one meal a day.
So, even an extrovert / non incel such as myself can fall victim to the gaming trap. But, I sold my PS4 well before its useful life was spent for a good reason. Even as much as I loved Madden. It was consuming me too much.

I think the popularity of online forums that give these incels a safe space and comradery with their peers is also a factor. It only justifies their behaviors and outlook regarding the opposite sex.
100 by 30 is possible for a player. I would know.
I wish. Too bad my first semester of college I picked good grades over lots of lays. I could have had 20+ that semester alone. I sure was talking to a ton, circa sept-nov 2013, but didn't get my first college lay until march 2014.
its hard to get a thot when they will yell sexual harassment just for saying hi.........its easier to buy a pocket puzzy with no hassle
Virgin detected
So, the players are simply getting a higher body count while the gamers are no longer in pursuit of female flesh but rather satisfied spending all their free time with gaming controller in hand and large mountain of months-old fast food takeout trash and waste in each corner of room.
That, or a disproportionately substantial amount of females have, by choice, decided to become bisexual/gay. (Which I've noticed over the past 10-15 years per se. Not very many "bi" or "pansexual" males out there...)
Either way, you don't count, because you lick other men's butts. got.
