Just posted on Hoops Hype linking from Willy H.
Is this the initial Spain Olympic roster?

    Hope Garuba makes the team.
Love to see how his game’s progressing.

After watching the Clips + Jazz can’t help but feel he would dominate during certain stretches in that series.

    Dominate...you mean defensively?

the Jordan Hall kid is actually pretty good. I could see him being a lottery pick next year if he goes to a bigger school. The passing skills stand out, almost like Giddey. Ugly form on his shot though but I guess it works.
    So I learned that

on May 4th, he transferred to A&M for next year (good for his draft stock, like I said)

He did not appear on the list of draft eligible players
    Reference: https://247sports.com/Article/2021-N...rly-162966399/

He could deem himself eligible but in order to go back to college (if he is not drafted), he will have to participate in the draft combine... which he is not participating in.
    Reference: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2021/06/...ticipants.html

    So what is happening here?

Is it another Obi Toppin-type workout by the Spurs where they get information about him the year before he is drafted? That way they can go stealth the next year and pretend they didn't work him out?

IF Jordan Hall does indeed become a lottery pick next year, the Spurs are damn good at projecting player leaps, as we already knew...

    Absolutely.
Though I think in 3 years he’ll be serviceable enough Offensively that he will have some ridiculous stat lines where he’ll be a roto fantasy stud.

He’s a very intriguing talent to me. He could be like a combo of Shawn Marion with a Luguentz Dort frame.

So they have us trading the best pick we've had since Timmy for trash with a team with which there is great animosity.

    Makes total sense.

Yeah, Knicks and Spurs really don’t speak. They accused SA of tampering with KP. I’m sure that didn’t set too well with PATFO. We’re not just going to hand them a lottery pick.

So no Wagner at the combine, maybe he has something in the bottom top10.

Also no duarte and Ayayi from Gonzaga.

Anyone inside the lottery who makes a promise BEFORE the lottery isn’t very smart. Duarte likely has a late promise, Wagner a middle round promise.

The promising thing is weird in general. What if someone unexpectedly drops to us? Either we go with the lesser player or piss off an agent? I suppose if you think a player will be gone before you draft then it could make sense, and perhaps that's what happened with Devin last year. And perhaps, if the Spurs made a promise it would be to either Wagner or Moody, but I can't see anyone else.

I wonder how often a prospect really wants to do the combine to show off something like a vertical leap, but then is talked into not going by an agent... I'm guessing most guys already know their own wingspans and vertical numbers, and in the case of a guy like Wagner showing well in those categories would almost certainly propel him a few spots higher. Who knows, though-- maybe he has a mid round promise from a team he really likes, and doesn't want to mess with that.

I think the Spurs did it more when they were picking at the end of the first round than now. I also think they’ve used it sparingly. Because the lottery hasn’t happened, I doubt they’ve made a promise yet this year.

release looks too low. I'd probably pass on him but of course I don't know much else about the guy.
