Eightball & MJG too
That definitely opened up a new audience but Raising was a great album without that song.
Eightball & MJG too
Damn Eightball is fire to begin this track, completely outshines Mr Mike on his own album.
What are you struggling to understand, exactly?
"Didn't earn their supers om" - The Beastie Boys got famous on the strength of being marketable (white) Run DMC clones and briefly became the faces of Rap because MTV wasn't playing rap music by black artists. Their first album was a Rubin production, he could have used anybody and made the same album.
"Made the best of it when they got there" - Paul's Boutique and everything after was much more original, interesting, and good. They made good art instead of making repeated copies of Ill, even though it cost them some sales.
You gots got to be trollin'.
Are they just marketable white people or did they make a kick-ass album that holds up?
You're struggling so much, Sadbert.

He and MJG did that on the regular. He went bar for bar with Crime Boss on Chemical Imbalance and they murdered Mase on The Player Way. He went hard on Mr 3-2's song Hit the Highway too
Ball & G could out write The Beastie Boys in their sleep. Outkast too.
They work this out too.
uh duh fuk
We get it. You're into black guys.
From a technical standpoint. Although Beck is certainly at a different level there.
Who plays guitar on Fight for your Right?
Ad Roc or a hired gun?
There's no way of knowing.
per Wiki it was Kerry King, Slayers lead guitarist.
Kerry King - Wikipedia
So instead of doing that first, you asked SpursTalk where someone else could do it for you.
With the SpursesTalk hardkowre rappers i thought one of you might have some accurate info.
Or some additional info beyond Wiki.
Like, "ya when the Beasties played in Houston i was at HEB and talked to Mike D and Kerry on isle 12."
And N2Deep, House of Pain and Insane Clown Posse round out the top 8.
Like 9 of those are definitely better than Beastie Boys.
That's where it gets debatable and why I didn't bring them up. Many would try to wedge House of Pain into the top 5 based on a couple of "hits".
But if you dig deep, Vanilla Ice had far superior flow. Listen to Ice's deep cuts and you'll know what I mean.
You could even throw Debra Harry into the conversation although she only had one real rap. But it's pretty iconic. You have to ask...if there was no Blondie, would there be an NWA?
Yeah, Vanilla Ice gets clowned on all the time, but the guy could spit and everyone was bumping his sh1t back in the day, even though they won't admit it now. .
And no Vanilla Ice, then no Death Row records which means no east/west rivalry and Big and 2Pac are probably still here. That guy is more legendary then people realize.
Ad Roc plays it live.
And that's what makes some of these comments amusing.
The Beastie Boys were actual musicians as opposed to some off the street ass clowns and their cheap producers.
Many of their tracks were instrumentals. Listen to Sabotage; wicked backing.
Will check out.
But as to many bands, even mega super well known bands....they didn't always come up with their own chit.
Hired Gun.
If you have not already seen it:

Piped in guitars has also happened, it's not just lip sync that music biz uses.
*Not saying Beastie Mike did not write or play his own studio and live.
Hired Gun was great. If you liked that, I'd also recommend, 20 Feet From S om, which focusing on background singers.
