For starters, you're paying for services that are available free of charge elsewhere, with a much better track record in pretty much everything, from privacy to security. Basically, you're being taken for ride.
That said, that site is clearly targeted to re ed people, so that's probably part of their business model, tbh.

Gab is a very tiny service, as it's expected for something catering the re ed fringe that got booted from almost any other service.
As of March 2021, they have 100,000 monthly active users. Twitter has 189 million monthly active users. Facebook has 2.9 billion monthly active users.
Those numbers are spurious at best. Twitter full of bots and looking more and more like a ghost town after their purge. I'll grant you that Gab is somewhat low as a pretty new start-up that is playing catch-up.
