It's hard to get defensive boards when you guard Jokic on the perimeter.Jakob Poeltl
The good: Poeltl stayed out of foul trouble against the most skilled center in the league. All in all, even though Nikola Jokic still produced (25 points, ten assists, nine rebounds), I thought Poeltl defended him pretty well. His passing was much better than usual. The bad: One defensive board in 28 minutes won’t get it done. Poeltl’s help-defense and transition D weren’t as good as usual.
Team D - start the tank ASAP and fire the FO.
Poor OP having to write grades after every game for arguably the least enjoyable spurs team ever
Even the sniffiest of the sniffers shouldn't be resigned to such a terrible fate
First half and beginning of the third quarter was inspired ball. I can always handle a loss if the team did it in spirited fashion. Right now it seems like even the smallest mistake breaks their back and they all pout. What a turn around from a few weeks ago. February’s Spurs would have played with poise the whole game and at least kept it interesting.
- The grades are off just by giving Pop, Mills and Gay better grades than Demar.
- This team need to change the Coach.

Good L.
We should've left Rudy go get a ring with the Nets or something but we need a few tank commanders tbh.
OP seems hard on White and easy on Murray.
Seems like an agenda but I am not positive.
Too hard on Pop and the FO.
They obviously still have "it" because they were able to lure Giorgui Dieng from contenders
Also Pop has five rings so he should be given a lifetime pass
Is there anyone who is a still a emar eRozan fan ? I know there’s at least one guy who likes him I think
the play in which gordon ripped the ball away from rudy says it all about gay's awful performance last night. and it gets more and more frustrating to watch pop stick with veterans that are clearly awful on some nights.
also, that three minute stretch where derozan turned the ball over twice and then got teed up was a critical stretch; it started the end. i'd say it would be fair to say that the veterans were the reason why the spurs lost the game last night. demar, rudy and patty were even worse on the court than they are trying to act in their HEB commercials.
So an expected loss?
Non issue
Imagine if we would've drafted Jokic. Then we wouldn't have to have a ty starting center getting C+ for "holding" their man to a triple double all while scoring 4 points.
He didn't airball two free throws in a row this time. Progress, I guess.
I wonder if the Spurs looked at Jokic at all during their scouting. I wonder if he was ever on their radar as the Spurs were known for uncovering these types of foreign players. Nuggets took a chance on him and got an amazing reward. If he wins MVP, I am assuming he'd be by far the lowest draft pick to ever do so?
"The game was lost in the third quarter when the bench came into the game and proceeded to roll over and die. Pop not adjusting to what happened played a definite role in that. Trying something — anything — would have been appreciated."
Specifically when hot DJ and effective KJ were taken out for Mills and Gay, any thoughts on why Pop took them out?
Scheduled break? Minutes limitations since DJ is still in long recovery from ACL and KJ was Covid a month ago?
Or just CIA Popped control freak bull ?
Our vets are no good. Maybe they're all just gassed at this point. Too much coffee crew and not enough pushing tractor tires up hills.
Why y’all still watching games?
The only hint of optimism for the Friday game is the odds must be against our bench playing that bad for the 6th game in a row. Talk about a collapse....that was a drag to see.
jokic is one of the greatest draft steals of all time
We recently did kawhi vs curry in a thread. I wonder what jokic and kawhi would look like. Oh nevermind everyone saw what happened last year in the playoffs.
kawhi was a first rounder. jokic was a second rounder.
