Why are you rubes so scared all the time then?
Ducks must believe that lib utopia is being able to date and pee on your underage relatives.
Sad.
urbanization has been steady for 100+ years
80% of Americans live in or near cities.
You do know the richest people are not always the happiest
Apparently the safest people don't feel safe.

The best things in life are free
But you can give them to the birds and bees
I need money (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
Your love give me such a thrill
But your love don’t pay my bills
I need money (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
Money don’t get everything it’s true
But what it don’t get, I can’t use
I need money (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
That’s what I want (that’s what I want)
Money (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Lots of money (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Whole lot of money (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Ha ha (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Aha ha ha ha ha (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Whoa yeah (that’s what I want… ah ha ha)
Give me money (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Ah lots of money (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
All of these greens (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Yeah, I’m not saying, that’s what I mean (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Ah ah ah… (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Whoa yeah (that’s what I want… ah ha ha)
Give me money (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
Ah lots of money (that’s what I want, ah ha ha)
So, you buy the claim?
The vast majority of people don't want to live in rural america. I know because they don't live there already.
I don't want to live in a truly rural area. I also don't want to live in the city (downtown). Luckily, there is a good compromise.
Why are you mumbling to yourself yet again?
derp?????
We'll see what happens when remote working becomes more prevalent, tbh. Some of this had to do with commute, but truly rural areas are still severely lacking in comms and tech.
I can understand the charm of some small towns. Like you're saying, so long as they have good enough infrastructure.
It also depends on what phase of life you are in.
Old people tend to be homebodys imo. Except for the fat people cruises.
Younger people want to get out and about and visit new places. So an apartment in a big city with a job that pays well is perfect. Good airport. Easy to get away and do stuff outdoors and see new places. I guess as I become less mobile physically maybe I fall into the stay at home, go on a cruise. Right now, this would cause me to kill myself.
Cruises are lame.
I'm talking about small towns fairly close (less than 30 miles) from a fairly large city.
Yeah, it's really suburbs we're talking about, and maybe that town in the outskirts... but none of them are really what you would call truly rural.
Basically, if there isn't a 7/11 in the surrounding 20 miles, you're in the middle of nowhere, tbh
What a delusional piece of fake news by Breitbart. The states that lead the USA in gun deaths per 100,000 people are almost all Trump states with lots of rural folks: Alaska, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Montana, Wyoming, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina, West Virginia. A higher percentage of people are shot and killed in these places than in New York City or San Francisco by far, but people who are bad at math will argue that two people killed in New York state is worse than one person killed in Wyoming, completely ignoring the fact that Wyoming's entire population is smaller than most cities, counties, and towns in New York state.

In Wyoming, people feel safe enough to blow themselves away.
I would start a family in a rural area. Usually surrounded by outdoor activities. As long as digital connection is dependable.
My sister chose to start one in Berlin. She really wanted an International experience for her kids and felt that even suburban life in California lacked this.
Yeah one good compromise is to live in the 98% of every city that isn't "downtown." It's not difficult. What percent of most cities' populations do you think lives downtown? Weird comment.
Marrying your cousin aint utopia ya inbred
