scrubby teams scrubbing it up for a chance to get scrubbed in the first round
yes, play-in is stupid
scrubby teams scrubbing it up for a chance to get scrubbed in the first round
If there were no play in, Pop would toss the towel with more games left, and play the rest of the kids, much like the bubble last year. Now, we have almost no chance to be eliminated, so we get to watch the medium three fumble away games.
I don't mind the play in tournament, tbh. I don't care if it goes away but I wouldn't mind if it stays either. In the big picture, 7th and 8th seeds don't matter so why not make it more interesting and maybe keep a few more teams from blatantly tanking? Tanking Is probably the thing that is most harmful to the NBA as a league so if this dumb play in tournament helps, go ahead and keep this harmless gimmick around.
Grizz lost
Warriors won
Pelicans currently leading in OT
Mavs leading in 3rd quarter
Methinks the Thunder might be taking this tanking thing to the extreme.
They did beat the Celtics though so there’s that.
I just hope the top 6 shakes out in such a way where the Lakers and Clips have to play each other in the first round.
Lakers closing in on the play in.
I didn't realize that NOP has three games remaining against the Warriors and another against the Griz. It's not impossible for them to sneak in Spurs could still drop to 11, especially with the Spurs tough schedule.
Didn't stop them from shoving it up our backside more than once
It's just part of the trend to make the regular season as meaningless as possible.
The Pels are 4 games back in the loss column, with 10 for us to play. The Pels only have 8 games to play. Not likely. There’s an overwhelming chance that we are 10. They could do us a favor, and roll over for GS. Neither of 9/10 teams are likely to play in, so if GS finishes 9, and neither of us plays in, that would bump us up to 13, instead of 14 in the lottery.
The play in feels strange because it's new, but I think the combination of adding revenue for the league and cutting down on tanking is ok. The time it's really going to get interesting is when a team with a season long injured superstar manages to grab the 10th spot just as that star is ready to return. There's a slightly different version of that happening this year with the Lakers-- after playing great basketball all season, the Jazz, Suns, Clips, or Nuggets might have to face a completely healthy AD + Lebron in the first round.
They aren't even playing the players that need to develop like Dort or Poku because they are afraid it will cost them losses.
everyone wants to be the nhl
Pelicans only 2.5 games back. Would be sweet if they passed us
Even if the Spurs make it to the play in, they are gonna get their lunch handed to them by the Warriors.
Craig Pop n Patty in a minor fender bender that renders both unable to participate in the Play In and Playoffs?
LeBron demanding help again like he wasn’t gifted that in all his championships
wouldn’t last a year having to carry the load Duncan had to
The problem is we got to lose just as much as they win. Which I guess this team has the talent or lack thereof to do
