10% of fully vaccinated got infected in the 13 weeks following vaccination. That percentage can only go up as time goes on and antibody levels wane.

    Everybody gets infected eventually.

"cancel culture" is just a modern nickname for something that's always been around, and frankly i dont see a problem with people facing social consequences for their positions, comments, or actions.

the only thing i find stupid at times is when the basis of the "cancellation" is a several years' old comment that "resurfaces" on social media.

    Bull

Its pretty new to completely cancel ppl for public or private comments.

For example. John Wayne was a top tier hollywood artist for decades. He was a known racist and all around shovinist pig.

    Noone canceled him.

Thats just one example of countless.

racism and chauvinism was much more tolerated when John Wayne was prominent

the idea that people would face social backlash for controversial comments/opinions has always been around

racism wasn't always controversial enough to get that treatment

But thats exactly the point and the problem. Whos dictating whats controversial today?

"Marriage is between man and woman"

    "All lives matter"

Those are now considered borderline cancelable these days why?

And what will it be tomorrow?

"What I will say is we have 8 million creators, and hundreds of millions of pieces of content," Ek said. "We have a content policy and we do remove pieces that violate it."

    Spotify is a cool company

Glad they seem are not part of this crazy cancel culture

    not equivalent

    analogous

conduct or language that is socially unacceptable changes with the times. doesnt mean all "unacceptable" conduct is equally bad or outrageous

Mario Lopez was justbcanceled for saying a 3 year old should not decide what gender they are

generally, society makes the call. we live in the times we live in. social norms have always changed with times. this isn't particularly difficult stuff

    social mores change over time.

some people get way bent out of shape because their formerly respectable opinions are no longer respectable. semi-enlightened chonkheads like Rogan tease that.

We live in a planet with 6 billion ppl.

We cant expect everyone to have a monolithic way of thinking. The ppl in power should not decide their way of thinking is right and everyone elses isnt.

As long as someone is not inciting violence they absolutely should not ever be canceled.
