Jazz sure do have a monopoly on frumpy players with flabby dad bods. It’s inspiring, really.

Everytime Lonnie seems like he's turned the corner, he goes passive for 3 games....

Absolutely not a coincidence that he had his best game in months yesterday, with DeRozan gone, and immediately goes back to "passive mode" the very next game when DD returns. Not to mention the back-to-back 20+pt games earlier in the season, too with DD gone. At one point you could've said there was "no evidence" of correlation... Now, it's hard to ignore, tbh. I'm really looking forward to seeing him off the team, whether the youngns swim or sink in his absence.

I don’t expect the results to be pretty but at least the team will be tanking correctly instead of relying on a 30 million per year player who barely gets them to a .500 record.

the young lion needs to rise up and take what's his

if he can't assert himself based on a teammate how can he take over a game against a serious opponent

I'm not sure whether its DeMar's fault or Lonnie's, I suspect a mixture. I agree we may be worse but we'll be a more interesting watch when DD goes.

I think it’s an assortment of good players who don’t fit well with each other. The only duo that works is Murray/White but we’d be lucky to get an entire season of that with White’s injury issues. Really makes you appreciate how well the 2014 roster complimented each other so well.

Lonnie - 23 minutes, 2 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists. What are you doing bro? He's so talented (and a good guy) but man he's frustrating.

I can already see the Poeltl grade. He was a bit lacks on the boards and the numbers don’t really show what impact his defense had. I know Gobert shot 80% and had 24 and 15 but I thought Poeltl played him tough and really made him work. Offensively he had his head up, set solid screens, and even scored a basket. B+

Of the 16 teams that played tonight, the Spurs attempted and made the fewest threes. We've got a 6'11" center who leads the entire team in 3pt% this year & just had his best game in a Spurs uniform, but he played 16 minutes, against a team with a 2x DPOY who defends the paint better than almost anybody in the league. But yeah, let's continue with the midrange attack schtick, so that there will also be fewer long rebounds, and Gobert can dominate there too.
