Its that time of the year were the spurs start preparing/resting for the playoffs having booked thier place in one of the top seeds, well time have changed.
Its now a race to a playoff birth. As a spurs fan i am enjoying every game of it. Not only rooting for the spurs but also following results elsewhere.
Well this thread is to keep an eye on the teams progress and potential position. Please share your thoughts and feelings throughout the seoson, i remember there was similar threas towards the end of last seoson
As of now the spurs are 10th which gives them the last seat in the play in. They are 3 games clear of 11th NOP and level with 9th seat golden state.
17 games left its all to play for
Starting today
Spurs @pacers
Warriors @ 76ers
Memphis @ denvee
I'm curious if they can get the 12th seed too
If we manage to get .500 I think we'll sneak in as the 9th or 10th seed. 8th seed would be great, we don't have enough firepower without a great shooting big, but it would be nice to see the Spurs put a scare to that #1 seed.
10th would be more ideal than 9th. That's assuming you get home court with 9th. Spurs are horrible at home.
I think the Spurs could give either Utah or Phoenix a run for their money.
Has there ever been a team that was so significantly worse at home than on the road? It's really weird and you can't even really blame the pressure of pleasing the home crowd but we haven't had one most of the season.
Edit: there, not their because I can English good.

It’s not just us. Look at the standings. Most of the league is worse at home than on the road this season.
Almost perfect results for the spurs ..
Win @ pacers
Memphis lost
NOP lost
Warriors won
Today the good team is closer to 7th than they are to missing the play in.
10th just 1 win less than memphis and 2 less than dellas
Portland game is also intersting with lilard out one more loss and the 6th seed is with in reaching distance .
The Pelicans are hopeless. They're trash. They won't catch up to the Spurs even if the Spurs stay at 10th seed. I think it's pretty much guaranteed the Spurs are in the play-in tournament in some shape or form.
In terms of seeding realistically, the best seed the spurs may look at is 6th the final direct playoff entry to do that they will need an impressive run and some help.
My best estimate we will need 12 to 14 out of the remaining 16.
7th/8th seed will need 10 to 12 wins
Currently 9th or 10th is the more likely 8 wins should take us there maybe less.
Below is a quick overview on shedule difficuilty for teams relavent to the spurs (using combined winning % of all opponents)
The spurs have the 2nd toughest shedule 0.571
Portland 4th toughest at 0.558
Pelicans 10th at 0.505
While
Dallas have the 2nd easiest 0.442
GSW 4th easieat at 0.463
Memphis 5th .466
New Orleans and Sacto seem to have no intention of threatening to reach the 10th seed. Right now the Pels are five games behind in the L column. Portland and LAL are more at risk of dropping into the play-in zone.
I believe in Pop.
We're gonna get that lottery pick.
Another interesting day 5 home games for team concerned
GSW wizards
Spurs heat
Dallas pistons
Portland nuggets
Memphis clippers
If it's close between 9 and 10 I'd rather we finish 10th and be one spot further up in the draft. I guess home court for that game would be nice, but as others have said, HC doesn't mean much this year, and is possibly a detriment for this bunch.
If I'm the Spurs I fight for 6th. Highly unlikely, but you never know what might happen to the teams above us in the last month of the season.
9th seed was good while it lasted
there's no way in this team is making the playoffs, no matter which seed they got
After tonight's slate of games
Spurs literally locked into 10th in the west
Pretty close, which means out of the play in in one.
yeah, lottery. Two of three seasons of DeRozan experiment ending in the lottery is as good of an outcome as you could ask for if you want him off the team. The fact that I'm still nervous they'll offer him a contract at all this off-season speaks to itself.... Here's to hoping the Knicks' recent success gets into their head and they start thinking they're "one FA" away. Get that back, DD.
Still hoping the spurs get 6th seed, will settle for 7th/8th
3 games to watch out for tonight
Spurs /pistons
Pelicans @ orlando
Dallas/ lakers
We’re going to be 10th. Nobody behind us wants to move up, and, being unable to handle a press combined with a zone, we won’t be able to move up. Other teams watch film, and you can count on us seeing that again, and not just from Miami next time.
What if CIA Pop gets super drunk again and has a mishap which causes him to be unable to coach the remainder of the season?
We could have the lineup that blasted Phoenix reinstalled and make a run.
