Sen. Marco Rubio says Rep. Ilhan Omar ‘out of her mind’ for anti-Israel tweet

    By Samuel Chamberlain

    May 12, 2021 | 9:51pm

Controversial Rep. Ilhan Omar is “out of her mind” for accusing Israel of committing “an act of terrorism” by carrying out airstrikes against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Sen. Marco Rubio said Wednesday.

The airstrikes came after Hamas and other Islamic terror groups launched hundreds of rockets into Israel, targeting cities including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

“Israeli air strikes killing civilians in Gaza is an act of terrorism. Palestinians deserve protection. Unlike Israel, missile defense programs, such as Iron Dome, don’t exist to protect Palestinian civilians. It’s unconscionable to not condemn these attacks on the week of Eid,” Omar (D-Minn.) tweeted Monday, referring to Eid al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

“Number one, the Iron Dome wouldn’t need to exist if it wasn’t for Hamas and Hezbollah,” Rubio (R-Fla.) told “Fox News Primetime.” “The reason it exists is because these terrorists have rockets and they use it to try to kill Israelis. That’s the reason why it exists.

Cutting off foreign aid to Israel would help the situation. Not just militarily but because as the Israeli standard of living continues to improve, more people immigrate forcing them to expand their borders. Average Israeli probably enjoys superior standard of living than American anyway.

Palestinian bombings have nose dived since the peak of the early 2000's. Alot of that has to do with security improvements by the Israeli's. While the Palestinians have no answer to the armored military of Israel and will not for the foreseeable future.

I also think there was a racist aspect to the viewpoint and treatment by European-Jews that migrated to Israel. They had no connection to the region other than faith. I believe this is the demographic at the forefront of the Zionist in Israel.

Hamas had nothing to do with the start of this.

Did you know the US insisted on the inclusion of Hamas in the 2006 elections? Israel didn't want to, but we made them do it, more or less.

After that there was a hot fight between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority -- Fatah.

    Which Fatah lost.

I don't know who said it first, but it's not complicated.

Settler colonialists steal land and call it self-defense and terrorism when the people already living there fight back.

    Sure, why not.

Anglo settlers in Texas brought their race based sense of superiority (and their slaves) to Texas. For fifty years they harrassed and stole land from people who were already there, native and Tejano, exaggerating the threat they posed, forming criminal gangs who posed as raiders and blamed it on indians and Tejanos. The Texas Rangers were just one of these homicidal, thieving gangs.

Once there was a Texas government, it more or less continued to pursue a course of ethnic cleansing and exclusion.

    That's how Texas was conquered.

its a lot more complicated than "israel bad" but yeah, this does originate from the mistreatment of the palestinian people, first when they were living in israel, and now with the blockade of gaza and the "settlements" in the west bank.

this most recent skirmish also originated with the evictions in east jerusalem

but the plight of the palestinians, and more specifically gaza, would be a lot more sympathetic if they werent governed by hamas

Until the US insisted Hamas be legalized as a political party in Israel, they were strictly illegal in Israel. Fatah had no chance against them when Hamas won the election. Hamas was a criminal gang. Fatah was trying to be a legit political party. Too weak against the oppressor.

P.S., Israel historically gave aid to Hamas as a counterweight -- a legitimizing, terrorist/jihadist counterweight -- to Fatah.

You got that one backwards. Palestine is what that region was always called. The State of Israel didn't really exist until 1947-1948 via the UN par ion plan.

There's literally archeological evidence that Israel existed as a state before the Assyrians. Islam came 1500 years after
