But even if I did, half the people don't vote in this country, so the maximum possible number of violent extremists voting Republican would be ~25% of the country. That's obviously too high.

I would guess the number of violent extremists is a small fraction of that and that most non-violent GOP voters are more or less fellow travelers to the Trumpist-Leninist crazies in the party.
