The Spurs will never win another le. It was hard enough to get around David Stern, but now it's ESPN and ESPN gets what they want.

The rules for playing defense will need to go retro for a small
market team to win another ring.

With the growth in Austin, I'd shift the next arena somewhere along the I-35 corridor and make it the San Antonio-Austin metro team. Lots of Silicon valley money finding it's way to Austin.

The issue with that is Austin growth is to the north and northwest. There is some coming down the corridor but not like toward Round Rock. Now, maybe Abbott can start up a Go Fund Me to build rail to deliver people from the two metro areas to a centralized place.

Nah, it could be great. Picture this: the Seattle LBQTPGEXYY+BLMs, called the “Trannies” for short. I’m sure their uniforms would be fabulous. A rainbow of colors with spangles, and a leather codpiece, maybe. And the team mascot... well, let that be a surprise.

And I don’t know how to do blue font on this cell phone.

On topic, the next Spurs championship, could be as close as 5 or 6 years. Need some luck.

This is a odd poll because they currently lack a superstar and team make up to be considered contenders.
If we actually had a superstar to build around it would make more sense.

It takes a lot of preparations and plenty of luck to get a championship team. That DRob sweepstake was part luck with the 4th worst record, and then followed by another lucky break 10 years later with Timmy. Lightning struck at the same place twice! But then again, Sixers had #1 B2B's and their 2016 #1 pick couldn't even hit a free throw. Not to mention numerous #1 picks have turned into bust, while 2014 41st pick Jokic is this year's MVP. The Spurs have 1.7% to get #1 pick, but would a Cunningham make us an immediate Finalist? I doubt it, maybe in 2-3 years and the role players have to improve a lot. Timmy at #1 pick was very special, 2nd only to Magic Johnson's 1979 selection who was the Finals MVP in his rookie year. Kawhi is up there with a trip to the finals in his 2nd year and Finals MVP in his 3rd year, but we know what happened next. I don't think Spurs would be an instant contender soon, unless Kawhi got hit in the head and start knocking in our door. Maybe Pop could sweet talk him back this coming Olympics? I doubt it. I think Spurs will get a lot of help in #12 and #42. Spurs have been very good scouting and developing young talents. But it would take another great break to get a "Kawhi" talent at #12 that nobody else could see. I think the Spurs have "very good" role players. If they could sign Demar, he'd be a "excellent" 2-3rd option. Spurs are still missing that center piece. I can see the only immediate way is in a form of a package, maybe 1 of White/Murray plus Poeltl and a pick(s) for Zion? Anything...

The beginning of some real progress.

Now can they build from there to get a Chip within 5 years? It's possible.
Letting Pet Aldridge and Pet Patty go for nothing after stealing minutes. What a farce.

His damage is getting close to irreversible tho.
