The House rules state that without a quorum, “no business shall be transacted, except to compel the attendance of absent members or to adjourn.”

I dont see this clearly answered in the article presented by Winehole.
I guess you dont have to have a quorum on a call of the house because its not legislation?

Anyways, this is quite interesting. Almost comical. No, its comical its so Trumpish.

handwaving, verbiage and the veto, and his fawning-feral minions, are Gov. Abbott's arsenal.

so despite what Qhris thinks, it isn't about enforcing a law.

We are going to get to re-draw districts here by the end of the year.

Us Texas Dems are not going to allow that to go quietly into GOP gerrymandering to disenfranchise us.

    No. ing. Way.

Gerrymandering needs to go away altogether everywhere

It should but as long as it exists I hope New York gerrymanders the out of its upstate districts this year. Right now NY is 19-8 and it wouldn’t be all that challenging to draw a 23-3 map with the population losses in upstate.

Also it’d be hilarious if Illinois actually puts Cuckzinger, Mary Miller and Rodney Davis in the same district.

SCOTUS denied to take the gerrymandering case, so for the first time "partisan" gerrymandering will rule. Repugs will choose the voters, not voters choosing the candidate.

To take the House in 2022, the fascist Repugs will gerrymander every red/Confederate state to purge all Dem reps.

doomed anti-CRT legislation passed in the Senate waters down social studies standards, showing us what they're really concerned about, teaching kids about ethnic cleansing, civil rights, segregation, trade unionism and equality for women.

the following would be out, if passed.

teaching kids that the KKK is bad might harm their self-esteem by giving them too one-sided a view of things
