    If you are desperate for a cheap phone, just get a flip phone from Cricket as their phones run for $50, including service.

    They come with solitaire so that will meet your entertainment needs too.

    Isn't Apple bleeding edge though, like manufactured on the newest and most expensive nodes? I could swear I was reading iphones and ipads were taking all of TSMC's 5nm capacity.

    Yes, and obviously they also do design everything, including their own CPUs and the software which is exclusive to them.

    I'm not saying that makes it worth what their price is, because they're still overpriced, but they're certainly one company that uses the Chinese merely as manufacturers, unlike other phone makers which use stock parts and freely available software.
