And picking Keldon Johnson over Trae Young.
1988 - David Robinson, bronze medal
2004 - Tim Duncan, bronze medal
2021 - Gregg Popovich, any medal at all?
San Antonio is a disgrace to American basketball.
SMH. Blue Santa gs.
Remember it was Bobby Knight who brought the gold back to the U.S. after the catastrophic events of '72.
Media did not like that one in' bit, but could do nothing about it cept not call him everything but a white man.
The '72 Silver Medals are still in a vault somewhere in Switzerland.
Pop and Parker
carried by Tim and Manu
But the culture.
To be fair Duncan other than Iverson everyone bailed - Pop no excuses and Robinson other gold starting over Shaq and Ewing.
Who's gonna be the brave soul to try and take the car keys away from grandpa Popovich?
The US stopped caring about Olympic basketball when they saw the world catching up. Once it became a challenge to win, players started dropping out. Add the insane amount of money they get now and the cost of missing games due to injury or fatigue, the Olympics seem like a charity event.
They didn't lose '72 it was rigged and stolen.
But having Knight reclaim it was Media's worst nightmare. And he knew it.
A certain retired in place coach rightfully slammed

If USA doesn't get any medal at all I think Spurs should be cast off to Seattle, tbh
And deprive SA of years of suckage?
Deprive them of relevance, tbh
This, there's almost nothing to gain anymore for Team USA with the rest of the world catching up. It used to be an event where they could just f*ck off, and blow everyone out while treating it like a casual All Star game. But now that it actually takes work to win these games, nobody wants to put in the effort just to win a gold medal which "they were supposed to do all along". You can see in each of these games, the emotions from the other teams, diving on the floor for loose balls etc. they're playing to win whereas the Team USA guys are probably just trying to stay healthy
To be fair, this is probably the worst team Durant has played on in his entire career. The dude just isn’t used to carrying such a ty team
Evan Fournier is their best offensive weapon. I don't care how many nba stars didn't commit.
How much help do you need against a team led by the 4th or 5th option on the Celtics?
The Lakers lost 4 to Chris Paul.
Legit?! Young wanted to play?
