About a month ago. And there aren't many places out here. It's going to be different for everyone. Not everyone owns a vehicle. Not everyone wants to wait or has time to wait. So yah, you keep on trying.

He said you need to travel and you have wait time and that is more burdensome than getting a Gov't Issued ID.

That's not a complete lie and will depend situation by situation.

I had to drive out of town to get vaccinated. That was a 1.5 hour round trip in travel, about $25 in gas and I had to wait about 30 minutes to get vaccinated.

It takes me about 5 minutes and $15 dollars to get my DL renewed.
