, now I have to be okay with Utah winning a le...

Rudy was a great Spur, at least by the ty post-Big Three standards. He was way more effective defensively than most fans are arguing. It's not his specialty, especially one-on-one. But he'll fit in fine with their scheme. Happy for him, and happy for Samanic and KBD.
still can't pull for utah but i hope he does well. he was also one of the few to ball out in that play-in game.

Jazz fans think he's a decent defender.
Elite non big rim defender. He would be their small ball 5 if Rudy gets run off the floor.

Rudy is/was good buddies with Derozan so hopefully this is another sign that Derozan will not be back.

    Good luck to Rudee Gay!

    I really like Rudee

until Pop forced him down the spur fanbase' throat!

He could have been great just as a mentor to Samanic and very limited minutes - BEHIND Samanic.

Yeah Rudy played well here. I was really lookin forward to that LMA/Gay/Nephew line up when we signed him. Sadly that never happened

Dude can still shoot and score but the wheels are coming off. He did have the 2nd best +/- ratio on the team behind White if I'm not mistaken. Good luck but I'm happy the Spurs are moving on.

He was very solid for us... bailed us out on a bunch of games. Hit timely shots. Can't ask for more as a role player.

For 12/2, wonder why the Spurs didn't just keep him?

    Good run, Rudy

Great team defender. His lack of foot speed hurts him on the perimeter in certain matchups but he's good everywhere else defensively. He's long and tough so he can survive on the inside and his rotations were reliable.

Has surprisingly good court vision offensively. Doesn't always make the pass but he sees the court well

Should be a good fit on the Jazz. He's a plus overall on defense. Offensively, he's a tough-bucket getter, which will be helpful in the postseason. Should form an explosive bench unit next to Clarkson.

Rudy still performed well last year even though the rest of the bench was bad, especially after the All-Star break. Post-All-Star break Patty might have been the worst player in the league. Eubanks and Walker were inconsistent. Vassell slammed face-first into the rookie wall. There was also that stretch at the end of the season where the entire team would choke in the fourth except for Rudy. Ah, ugly times -- but not his fault.

Smart signing by the Jazz, tbh.

I was hoping Spurs would trade him or buy him out last year because he was playing well and deserved to go to a team and have a chance to win a le.

He was a good signing .If Kawhi didn't go AWOL there is a huge chance he would have gotten a ring with the Spurs. I hope for the best for him in his quest to get a ring.

For $12MM for two seasons he was probably better than a couple of our recent signings, but oh well, definitely time to turn the page. Another one of my favorite recent Spurs.

He's never been able to compete deep into the playoffs in his career, so perhaps he'll get that chance in Utah. Good for him.

Yeah, people are blaming PATFO for overpaying these guys, but you're not going to lure guys to take a paycut on a team that's not a contender.
