James Gist?
Because we need one.
One? This important point of discussion requires at least three. But thank you for having the internet sports savvy to bring this up.
After that dunk: Bonner > Scola.
As I was saying . . . Bonner thread!
What? Nonsense. We would be comparing the two 24-7. In fact, we can compare them now. Scola > Splitter.
booner is owning scola tonight
booner the last 5 games has not been bad
scola on the spurs would not even get booner minutes unless duncan is hurt
You know what would be better....if we also talked 2010!
SCOLA IN 2010!
duncan has played 35 -40 minutes a night
and scola has a whole 5 points tonight adn 3 big rebounds
wow
Did Bonner even play in the 4th quarter?
Did you watch the game? Bonner wasn't even in garbage time
Your Ph.D. is honorary, I take it.
Shoog doing his Thanksgiving on SpursTalk.
What? If we traded Parker for Scola, two problems would be solved.
I'm not trying to rub anything in, but this argument above has always puzzled me....So I really need to ask this question.
Why the do Spurs fans act like Scola wouldn't see the floor if he played for the Spurs? I mean really.........just curious.
Oberto is 6-10 and 245 pounds.....he played 16 minutes tonight and averages 20 on the season
Kurt Thomas is even smaller at 6-9 235 pounds.....he played 15 minutes tonight and averages 14 on the season
Luis Scola who switches off at the PF AND CENTER position for us is listed at 6-9 and 245 pounds (so he's more stout than Oberto and way bigger than Thomas). Scola would have no problem getting minutes even with Duncan on the floor if he played for the Spurs.
As for the "he only had 11 points and 3 rebounds" argument......well Yao only had 12 points and 1 rebound tonight so what's the point? Houston was hitting all their shots....wasn't really alot of rebounds to be grabbed tonight.
Look at Scola's past games before tonight...he doesn't have a problem scoring and grabbing rebounds.
Dude, it's ducks.
spurs front office thinks scola likes the ball where duncan does
you know more then them?
Oh, so Oberto and Thomas are 3pt threats huh.
Still makes no damn sense.....Yao and Scola both do most of their work down low, still doesn't hamper them.....plus I'm sure you saw tonight that Scola does have a midrange jumper.
scola hated rc and pop
scola hated rc for getting on him about rebounding via email
scola is soft and the best thing spurs did was to get rid of his sorry self
thomas shots 16-foot jumpshots
Scola is so crafty and good with his shot he could play any of three positions. On the Spurs, he could replace Oberto and your scoring output from the Center position would increase. He would also allow Pop to play a sort of twin towers type offense again too. What Oberto lacks in scoring and rebounding, Scola makes up in spades. Scola could have come in to the game to relieve Duncan too and not give up much in offensive punch or firepower. If Scola played at the 3 spot, he's got that nice midrange shot he can fire in almost at will. I have no idea why the Spurs front office thought that Scola likes the same spots as Duncan.
I also like how Scola puts his shots in, a lot of scoop shots by getting the defender to commit and then he throws a scoop shot under the defenders arms just like Kevin McHale used to do. In the process drawing a foul.
