It'll be Murray, Forms, McDip , Keldon, and Poeltl tbh.
For me it has to be:
DJ
White
McLovin
Keldon
Jak
Thad as the only other legitimate player who could potentially start. The next 10+ players are all basically even in terms of likelihood of having a material role.
That starting lineup is a sub 20 win team unless DJ/White really get to the next level in short order.
It'll be Murray, Forms, McDip , Keldon, and Poeltl tbh.
Pretty sure Pop would squeeze Bryn in that SL.
You are going to see like a ton of starting line upsthrough out the first half of the season this year. Pop is going to go full on Experimental Mad Scientist.
Murray/White
?
?
?
?
Poeltl
With this roster it feels like this kind of year more than every.
I'm hoping to see a starting lineup of:
Dejounte Murray
Derrick White
Keldon Johnson
Luka Samanic
Jakob Poeltl
(As long as Murray and Samanic start taking and making 3s for spacing). I think it would be the best defensive lineup in the league.
If they start winning too much, I could see this lineup going in to keep the tank going:
Tre Jones
Bryn Forbes
Lonnie Walker IV
Doug McDermott
???
That includes 3 of the 7 worst defensive players in the league. Throw those guys in together in the 2nd and 4th quarters and we'd get to see how good our future is while still getting a top draft pick.
Think it should be:
White, Murray
Walker, Forbes
Vassell, McDermott
Young, Johnson
Poeltl, Eubnaks
Think it will be:
Murray, White
Forbes, Vassell
Walker, McDermott
Johnson, Young
Poeltl, Eubanks
or
Murray, Jones
White, Forbes
Walker, McDermott
Johnson, Young
Poeltl, Eubanks
With Jones basically only being there for foul trouble and Pop running a nine-man rotation.
Pointless...as they always do they'll put something random that makes whole forum n all their "analysis " wrong
PG- Dejounte Murray / Tre Jones
SG- Derrick White / Lonnie Walker / Bryn Forbes
SF- Keldon Johnson / Doug McDermott / Devin Vassell
PF- Thad Young / Luka Samanic
C- Jakob Poeltl / Drew Eubanks
C- Zach Collins
SG- Joshua Primo
SF- Chandler Hutchison
PF- Al-Farouq Aminu
Just saw an article on ESPN where Caesar's Sportsbook listed the predicted number of wins for each team in 2021-2022, with the Spurs at 29.5 (tied for 5th worst in the league).

Did you forget about the existence of Forbes, tbh?
simmons
primo
keldon
thad
aussie
thad would be an essential part of any simmons trade tbh
You cannot start Poeltl Young and DJ. The spacing would be worse than last year.
simmons
primo
vassell
keldon

PG:Murray SG:White SF:Keldon PF:Samanic C:YaK … I was tempted to put Lonnie at the 2 for his 3pt shooting and scoring but I had to go with white bcuz he is a stabilizing 2 way force that the starters will need ! Luka has shown enough in limited minutes to get the nod over the over power forward options on the team him and poetle at 6’11 and 7’0 in the paint would be an intriguing offensive and defensive duo… Murray and white are the best defensive guard tandem in the league and keldon slides down to a more natural small forward spot he’s our do it all heart and soul of the team !
ideal scenario:
White
Keldon
McDermott
Simmons
Poeltl
What Pop would do as presently constructed:
Murray
White
Keldon
McDermott
Poeltl
What I'd like to see (if we don't get Simmons):
Murray
Walker
Keldon
Samanic
Poeltl
Forbes at the two is a definite risk. My hopes are that McD’s 3pt shooting (he is getting the green light fo sho) and a takeover of this tram by DJ/White on both ends of the floor leaves Forbes to a deep bench role and captain of the coffee gang.
I don’t dislike Forbes as much as I once did just want to him to earn his minutes on both sides of the court. Patty developed into a scrappy, pesky and sometimes smart defender who put obvious time in the gym to build his body. I personally see this signing as a similiar opportunity for Brynn. Outside of DJ/Keldon and maybe a healthy White my optimism in this squad is placed on everyone getting a shot to to show what they have.
Agreed. With better 3pt shooting Thad probably starts somewhere. However we still lack shooting. McD has to start and I don’t see Keldon or Jak being bumped.
Pop’s pet has all that corporate knowledge, championship swagger, spreads the floor on offense and Pop’ll need some reason to justify bringing his ass back so of course he’ll start.
I would like Luka to start just like lonnie did and see what he has. Move KJ back to the 3 and go from there. I think 3 startes are DJM, KJ and Jacob. White probably has it as well so it is asking who will be the fifth? Luka is young and a natural at the position. I know some dont think he has grown much but I want to see him given a legit shot.
Murray
White
Lonnie
Doug
Jakob
See if Lonnie defense makes a leap to make that the right lineup. If not, put in Thad over Doug.
Lonnie was already being groomed to be a 6th man towards the end of last season, with Pop going on to say that he could be a version of Manu for the team (probably to make it easy for Lonnie’s ego). Pop doesn’t say things like that lightly. It’s usually with a purpose. It’s either White or Vassell for the 2 spot. Murray, Keldon, and Poeltl are a lock to start. And the mystery man for the last starting position is probably a guy who can shoot… McDermott. Dark horse for that last starter position is Luka. Just like dark horse for last season was Keldon, absolutely no one saw that coming.
I wonder if the addition of MCD isn't in some way to avoid starting Forbes, but we'll see what's in Pop's mind.
Keldon not starting tbh?
Your right Pop is going to go on full Mad Scientist Beast Mode - That will definitely help with the tanking will start seeing glimpses of players who will stay and seeing players who will be traded or let go after the season. But make no mistake the goal is the number 1 Draft Pick anything less then that is a FAILURE ....LOL
