Is Murray out for rest? I mean he played 21 minutes. That’s too much for a 25 year old
It's not rest in the sense of being too much for his body. Pop is trying to give minutes to everyone to sort out his hierarchy. Murray resting lets Walker start and Young/Aminu get into the rotation. I'm assuming White and maybe Walker sit out on Friday and give guys like Primo, Wieskamp and Samanic rotation minutes.

As I mentioned before, I think this would be a good opportunity to see if Pop has other ideas the rotation at this time. Monday could've been his first attempt, but you'd think guys like Vassell might get chances to start or Young will get burn if the team isn't dead set on moving him. Unlike last year, there are enough pre-season games to give guys developmental minutes. Obviously with so much turnover, getting real game minutes with the new rotation matters, but just like with Eubanks/Landale, there are theoretically compe ions elsewhere on the roster that should be resolved too.

Also does anyone think Samanic might be the Spurs' play for the other two-way spot? I can totally imagine the Spurs not wanting to pay him $4 Million or whatever next year but being down with keeping control of him for another year. Sam would clear a bit more money this year by signing rather than being traded, so it's not horrible for him, but being bound by RFA status doesn't feel great either. It'd be interesting.
I hadn’t thought about it bc I don’t know about contracts like you but I suppose it’s possible if the relationship hasn’t soured and if he doesn’t catch on elsewhere. I’d imagine they would try to trade him first but he’s unlikely to go somewhere by himself and some teams may even be expecting the Spurs cut to scoop him up. I don’t see why Spurs wouldn’t play him in a scenario like this preseason game. It’s even puzzling but it doesn’t look good for him.

Yeah that had to be a 15 - 20 point deficit was looking ugly early but then boom forbes hits like 4 threes in a row and its single digits

That lineup afterwards was hot, vass and mcd back to back threes, whole team running, poeltl with rim protection and rebs

    This team could be sick

Getting over himself. That big game was unsustainable.

Good comeback to keep the game interesting at the half.

Lonnie has been hit and miss. Really wish this guy could put it together, but he still has a habit of putting up some great plays then following with a string of bad possessions.

Keldon is trying to do too much, and not driving like he usually does. Disappointing half for him overall.

White needs to be more aggressive (as usual). Same goes for Vassell.

Other than one good defensive possession, I can't say Young has done much to increase his trade value.

Hoping for some Primo time in the second half.

Keldon is still a bull in a china shop
    Disappointing to see.
You'd think he'd be adding some deception and nuance at this point in his game.

I just think Keldon is really limited in his game. He's talented and can do certain things well, but his range of activities is not large.

Watch Forbes on defense. Anemic, shoddy, absent. He should never get into the SL

Yeah, if he's going to be a top option, he'll need ways to gain the advantage. It's not a horrible thing if he never becomes that kind of guy, but if he doesn't, then he needs to pick his spots better and do the things he can do well when appropriate. I don't like how much he focused on his in-between game over the summer given how shaky his three-point game still seems to be.
