There was no way Knicks were going to play him in a close, double OT game against the Celtics. Sam will be lucky to get playing time in a blowout win
That's true but he wasn't even with the team, so that wasn't an option. So, my question remains was he in the g-league or cut. Looks like the g-league.

Who said I thought he'd get run? I just was curious if he'd made the squad, was in the g-leage or cut.

WHY DIDN'T THIBS GIVE LUKA ANY PLAYING TIME?!!!! HE IS STUNTING HIS DEVELOPMENT! A DOUBLE OT GAME AND NO LUKA???? WTF MAN. THIBS NEEDS TO GET OVER HIMSELF
POOP obviously called Thibs and told him he would give him his wine cellar just to make sure Samanic nevers gets a chance to play because POOP just hates Luka and wants to ruin his life

Next POOP is going to call immigration services to make sure his visa is still up to date.

He's on a two-way contract. Would be kind of stupid to waste one of his 45 days on opening night.

He'll be in the G-League for training camp.

I so overestimated his athleticism when we drafted him.

Would be disappointing if true… and also a big mistake, in my opinion. Someone will pick him up and we’ll regret the day we gave up on him.

At least Primo is going to work out. I'm glad to be wrong about him.

    Mistake. Completely mishandled.

I'm not saying he was going to be a special player but his defensive versatility alone was enough to give him a chance at some rotation minutes. Not every player has the personality to handle being a whipping boy. Especially when favorites (Brent, Patty, Belli) continue(d) to get regular minutes despite being trash on defense.
In Primo's case, he was the "whip it out" boy.

Its in the spurs interests that he does work out. Raises interests in our scrubs. Luka can join mianihimimi and bertans as guys whowere cast off from us, good for one season, massively overpaid, and then revert to scrub status.

Teams are always interested in our castoffs. As ignominiously as he was let go, NY fished him out of our dirty laundry hamper with a two way.

I still think he has an NBA career ahead of him, but I don’t blame the Spurs for letting him go at the time.

He, like Primo, exposed himself while with the Spurs. He is a dime a dozen big that can shoot and play no defense. Maybe he finds some mascot like Matt Bonner role with some other team, but he is not a starter caliber player.

The last time he played in an NBA was garbage time in May 2021. Since then, he played for the G-League Knicks and G-League Celtics and never made the main squads. He's now 23 years old. It's certainly not too late for him, but... that ain't good.

would he be considered a big?
Bigs I thought matured slower and if that is the case then maybe Luka finds a place??

He's sort of a PF with some SF speed, no post-up game. He can be a good shooter and then he does this drive where he dribbles extremely slowly behind his back that everyone figures out almost instantly though he keeps doing it.

I can see Samanic being a borderline NBA player for a few years. He has the physical tools. But he isn't gonna make any sort of meaningful impact in the league imo.

Speaking of Samanic, my nephew was recently offered the choice between #19 and #27 in his basketball league. He asked me which one he should pick and I said #27. He didn't ask why, but I chose it because Samanic was such a disappointment.

Until he can develop a combo that can work in the NBA....
Or he could improve the consistentency of the long range shot, otherwise....Europe might be the better option.
He might "still" be considered young..but time flies and lifespan of most athlete is so short,
Seeing him grinding in gleague for so long, I really hope he can find a way to suceed.

He might also prefer being a big fish in a small pond in the G League, versus taking the risk of going to Europe and possibly sitting on the bench? Either way hope he finds success.
